Spoilers for HBO's 'The Third Day' Episode 1 'Friday - The Father'

The premiere episode of HBO's new mini-series 'The Third Day' is a slow but psychologically intense introduction to the first part of the series, titled 'Summer'. Starting off with a man named Sam played by Jude Law, audiences already find themselves immersed in a storyline that feeds off the protagonist's emotions. The series already has a strong sense of imagery, intentional metaphors and simple excellence in delivering a strange and questionably storyline that makes you wonder "what more is there to this?" Fans of Law and HBO series in general took to Twitter to praise the premiere episode in many components including the actors, the location and it's an isolated sense of possibly becoming a hit psychological thriller.

"THE THIRD DAY lived up to expectations. Beautiful landscape (Osea), weird locals, Celtic rituals, just a hint of blood sacrifice - & an American who did her PhD on the Essex witch trials & perceptions of women in Civil War England. Now to wait until next Sunday. #ThirdDay," wrote one fan. Another added, "Jude Law's face is truly the star of the first episode of #ThirdDay on HBO. Expressive, cast in all manner of diffuse light, tormented. Not sure this cult-ish thriller on Osea Island in England is going anywhere but it's atmospherically gripping."

If you're wondering how even the fan reactions can be so deep instead of the simple, "wow it's a good show," we have to say that the reason behind that is the fact that the premiere of the series show's great promise. It seems that from Law's almost solo acting with expressions that he excels at naturally to the imagery of the island from the water causeway to the dead bugs - the series had thought of every riveting factor to the tee. "#TheThirdDay is effing with my head all #Lynch-like and I love it. #JudeLaw did something ...," tweeted another fan. Another added, "Is it meant to be kinda a spin-off of the wicker man?? Either way Jude Law is cracking no matter what role he portrays. #thethirdday."

It seems as though as Sam tried to help a young girl after she had tried to commit suicide, he may have also gotten himself on an island that he might not be able to get out of. Well, at least not without a fight. Another fan of the actor added, "Jude Law is living all my literal nightmares on this first episode of #Thethirdday." It does give many the vibes of 'The Wicker Man' as we reported in our review but somehow is still unpredictable and impeccable in its delivery. "I feel like no one's talking about it but we checked out @hbomax's #TheThirdDay tonight and it's bugged out in a super entertaining way. Is it a retread of The Wicker Man? Probably. Still well made, well-acted and fun as hell to watch though," wrote another fan.

"Ooft that was intense #TheThirdDay@skyatlantic @HBO#judelaw outstanding as always as the leading man and I see #BradPitt produced it  Definite #thewickerman vibe," tweeted one fan.

The premiere episode managed enough suspense embedded with folklore and a tad but of thrilling horror that seemed to have enticed many fans. Another fan added, "#TheThirdDay is about to be a good one. The pilot was well made, mysterious, and creepy. I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode."
