Legendary rock band The Sweet has announced their 50th Anniversary Ballroom Blitz Tour.  Sweet will kick off their 2019 tour by returning to The Canyon on April 4 in Agoura Hills. 

“It is always a pleasure to play in Southern California where all of us in the band call home,” commented founding member Steve Priest.  “We are looking forward to bringing an exciting show to the tour stops on this 50th Anniversary Ballroom Blitz Tour.”

One of the most influential British rock bands The Sweet rose to worldwide fame in the 1970s as the premier glam rock act.  The band achieved success with hits including: 'Ballroom Blitz', Fox On The Run', 'Love Is Like Oxygen', 'Little Willy', 'Action', 'Teenage Rampage' to name just a few. Around the world, the group has sold more than 55 million records.

The Sweet’s current band lineup includes founding bassist and vocalist Steve Priest, drummer Richie Onori, keyboard player and vocalist, Stevie Stewart, guitar virtuoso Mitch Perry and lead singer Paulie Z.

The Sweet is experiencing a resurgence of energy with two of their biggest hits being featured in major films.  'Fox on the Run' was featured on both the soundtrack and trailers of the 3rd top grossing movie of 2017, 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2'. This exposure catapulted the song and group to #1 on the iTunes chart for three weeks.  Sweet’s hit, 'Ballroom Blitz' was in the international trailer for 'Suicide Squad' and received 13 million downloads.

The Sweet reformed in 2008 and together the band has played hundreds of shows, including a South American tour with Journey. The Sweet has also toured with Boston, Sammy Hagar, Joan Jett, Peter Frampton and Steve Winwood, to name just a few.  

Steve Priest, who co-wrote and co-produced the gold top-5 single, 'Fox on the Run', will be taking The Sweet back on the road in 2019.  Tour dates so far include:
