'The Masked Singer' Spoilers: Is Dog the Bounty Hunter the Armadillo? Here are clues
After surviving the first round of Team B's elimination on 'The Masked Singer' Season 7, Team Good's Armadillo is all set to return to compete with his fellow groupmates to earn a spot in the finale. While we will have to wait and watch to see if this golden mammal will survive yet another round of elimination or end up getting unmasked like Lemur, fans are already curious about Armadillo's identity.
After watching Armadillo's groovy performance to Johnny Rivers' 'Secret Agent Man', and carefully examining the clue package from the first round, both the judges and fans have their guesses on the identity of this Team Good member. Ken Jeong was convinced that Chuck Norris was underneath the Armadillo mask, on the other hand, Nicole Scherzinger thought it could be Erik Estrada, while Jenny McCarthy was convinced that it was Vin Diesel. The internet too was buzzing with several guesses on the Armadillo's identity, while many fans seconded Jenny and believed it could be Diesel, we, however, are tempted to side with another small section of the fanbase who think it could be Dog the Bounty Hunter. Clues for Armadillo
Keeping in line with the show's history of throwing in confusing clues to mislead the audience, the showrunners aired a very bizarre clue package for the Armadillo. The first thing we noticed was the presence of several rocks. The mammal then declares that he has a "tough exterior" but he's apparently "soft on the inside". He then reveals that his shell is often "scuffed, dented, or straight up bruised" after a long day at work, hinting at him being in a very physically active occupation. Then we see hot dogs being grilled and a beefcake, as well.
Armadillo then advertises his product "Armadillo Scrubs". A man clad in a black suit and sunglasses appears holding a bow and arrow and shoots the Armadillo. The mammal then says that he "was born on a mountain and raised in a cave, scrapping and singing is all I crave.” While these cryptic clues might seem very confusing and disjointed, many hawk-eyed fans decoded the meaning behind each clue and deduced it to Dog the Bounty Hunter.
Is Dog the Bounty Hunter underneath the Armadillo mask?
There were many subtle hints pointing at Dog the Bounty Hunter aka Duane Lee Chapman hiding underneath the Armadillo mask, such as the sunglasses and the massive boots on the costume itself, both of which are pretty much a permanent style staple for Dog the Bounty Hunter. The clue featuring him feel scuffed, dented, or bruised, alluding to his occupation being very physical could also be a homage to Dog's profession as a bounty hunter.
The hot dogs in the clue package could be a nod to his name, while the bow and arrows could be referring to Hunter. Finally, his statement about being born in a mountain and being raised in a cave too lines up as Dog was born in Colorado, and spent much of his time riding his motorbike and chasing criminals. Many fans too are convinced that Armadillo is none other than Dog the Bounty Hunter. A fan commented on the show's YouTube clip of his performance, "Oh no doubt about it. Armadillo is DEFINITELY Dog The Bounty Hunter. The clues definitely even matched up the glasses the beefcake, the voice especially too. That’s Dog for sure." "Family here are big fans and 100% Armadillo is Dog The Bounty Hunter," wrote a fan.
