'The Mandalorian' Chapter 3: Fans hail the best episode yet, anoint Mando the John Wicks of Star Wars

Fans of 'The Mandalorian' praised the action, insight into Mandalorian culture, and the direction of Deborah Chow

‘The Mandalorian’ comes out in full force this episode, giving action-hungry fans everything from flamethrowers to a jetpacked Mandalorian army. The action-packed chapter sees the rescue of Baby Yoda, insight into Mandalorian culture, and the fans are calling it the best episode of ‘The Mandalorian’ yet!

Twitter was filled with fans singing the praises of the latest episode of the popular ‘Star Wars’ live action series. It’s been popular with the fans from day one, with many claiming it to be the experience they’d been waiting for for decades. “@themandalorian is the show I asked for. Never thought I would get it... but it is happening. Episode 3 is better than episode 2 and I thought that would be hard to top,” said one user. “I am not saying I cried tears of joy during the Mandalorian episode 3 but lets just say it is the best of the eps yet,” said another, via Tumblr. Their sentiments were echoed by many across social media who were all thrilled by the episode.

The story of 'The Mandalorian' was ramped up a notch this episode, and it changed things in a big way. Some fans especially enjoyed the chance to see the titular character take on multiple enemies at once, likening his heroics to fictional assassin John Wick.

"Mando, the John Wick of #StarWars Quite an episode 3. No spoilers but I can see why Favreau + Filoni = Star Wars Passion. I’m enjoying the continuation of the Mandalorian lore and culture in live action, no less," said one tweet, referring to the fact that the episode dove deep into 'Star Wars' lore surrounding Mandalorian culture.

Other fans took the time to point out the incredible direction work done by Deborah Chow this episode. Deborah Chow will also be directing the upcoming 'Obi-Wan' series, and she appears to have the 'Star Wars' fandom seal of approval, with one user saying, "Deborah Chow crushes it behind the camera. Fantastic direction. Even more excited for the Obi-Wan show now!"

Not all fan reactions were directly related to the episode, however. On Twitter, there continues to be a lot of backlash to a tweet made by feminist icon Anita Sarkeesian. Sarkeesian seeks more female representation on the show, but mistakenly posted that the first episode contained no female characters at all, forgetting the appearance of Emily Swallow as The Armourer. The fandom is not quick to forgive, however, and harsh replies calling out Sarkeesian's mistake abound.

The next episode of 'The Mandalorian' airs November 29, on Disney+.
