After 'Extraction' comes another crime thriller that's based on a graphic novel, 'The Last Days of American Crime.' Directed by Oliver Megaton, the film is set in the future and features plans to broadcast a signal that makes it virtually impossible for people to knowingly commit any form of crime. Here's what we know about the film so far.

Release date

'The Last Days of American Crime' releases on June 5 on Netflix.

Plot

The official synopsis reads: "As a final response to terrorism and crime, the US government plans to broadcast a signal making it impossible for anyone to knowingly commit unlawful acts. Graham Bricke (Édgar Ramírez), a career criminal who was never able to hit the big score, teams up with famous gangster progeny Kevin Cash (Michael Pitt) and black-market hacker Shelby Dupree (Anna Brewster) to commit the heist of the century and the last crime in American history before the signal goes off."

Director/Writer

Oliver Megaton helms 'The Last Days of American Crime'. Jesse Berger, Jason Michael Berman and Barry Levine serve as producers. The thriller is based on 'The Last Days of American Crime', a graphic novel by Rick Remender.

Trailer

The two-minute trailer features enough action and violence. It opens with a monologue that states, "The World is in Chaos." Crime and unlawful acts rule the streets and a signal that jams people from committing crimes. The rest of the clip sees the trio of Bricke, Cash and Dupree commit one heck of a heist. The question is will they?

News

The film is produced by Radical Studios along with Mandalay Pictures. According to Collider, Radical previously produced the 2013 Tom Cruise movie 'Oblivion', as well as the 2014 movie 'Hercules' starring Dwayne Johnson
