The Killers play 'Mr Brightside' from the rooftop at Monday Night Football, fans say 'that was dope'
Nevada's very own The Killers appeared on Monday Night Football's halftime presentation and performed their smash-hit 'Mr. Brightside' for the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
Las Vegas Raiders shared the performance on their official Twitter handle and wrote, "Missed The Killers electrifying halftime show? Say no more. #NOvsLV | Live on ESPN."

Kicking off the performance, frontman Brandon Flowers said, "Hello, we’re the Killers. It’s our pleasure to welcome the Raiders to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. I think we’ve got just the song for the occasion," before singing 'Mr. Brightside'; their signature single from the band’s multi-platinum debut album Hot Fuss (released in 2004).
The Killers performed on a rooftop during the Raiders’ matchup against the New Orleans Saints. This was Raiders' first home game of the season and also the first unveiling of the team’s new Allegiant Stadium.
Football fans, many of whom were also fans of the Killers, expressed their surprise and joy at seeing the Killers during the halftime show. One fan, talking about how much he loved the performance, simply wrote, "The killers man that was dope," while another, who clearly isn't a Killers fan, said, "creed would've been better." Another football fan, bashing both the Killers and Creed, tweeted, "The killers playing at halftime on mnf might be a worse decision than creed in 2001 on thanksgiving."

Not everyone was against the Killers performing 'Mr. Brightside' as one fan of the band defended them saying, "If you're dragging The Killers and Mr. Brightside I hope you choke on a tortilla chip and step on legos at the same time," while another user, praising the band's drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr, tweeted, "the drummer from The Killers has the most amazing Dad Energy. I love it. You expect him to drum a bit then crack High Life and show you the Trans-Am he’s rebuilding."

More praises came in as a Killers fan tweeted, "The Killers performing 'Mr Brightside' for #MondayNightFootball halftime show from a Las Vegas Strip rooftop that’s so lit. Dying to go back to fabulous LV when all this crap is over," while another said, "Best halftime show ever! The Killers always take me back."
