PUBG announces BlackPink collab with pink-themed battleground, K-pop fans say they'll 'never uninstall game'

Band members Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa are expected to be realized as special playable avatars and players will also be able to purchase special BlackPink-themed airdrop boxes, cars and lightsticks

After dominating music charts globally, South Korean girl group BlackPink is all set to take over the world of gaming with their upcoming collaboration with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, better known as PUBG. The insanely popular first-person shooter game recently teased the arrival of something new when it tweeted, "guess who is coming" sending fans of the K-pop girl group into a frenzy.



 

The pink color and new theme being teased by PUBG led many fans to believe that a collaboration with the 'Ice Cream' hitmakers is on the way.



 

Soon, excited fans of BlackPink created a Twitter storm about the latest collaboration. One fan of both PUBG and BlackPink, expressing surprise at the latest development, said, "I am a PUBG player since this game was released in the mobile version. And now my favorite game collaborating with my favorite group @BLACKPINK! This is really amazing! OMG I’m excited," while another fan of the band simply stated, "From now I'll play PUBG."



 



 

Talking about how BlackPink have recently dominated the Western market, a fan of the K-pop group wrote, "with the PUBG collab, Pepsi endorsement, ELLE cover, and THE ALBUM coming...BLACKPINK IS NOT ONLY IN THE AREA BUT EVERYWHERE!!!! THE FUTURE IS BLACKPINK," while another fan, super enthused to play the updated version of PUBG, wrote, "if blackpink will be added as skins, i'll never uninstall pubg ever again."



 



 

BlackPink fans were impressed with the way PUBG rolled out the new version of the game. A fan, praising PUBG developers, said simply, "pubg did their research," while another imoressed fan wrote, "Pubg has already put the girls' promotional image on app store. Wow!!!"



 



 

Pointing out how K-pop groups have been overtaking the world with new endorsement deals, a fan tweeted, "iKON HAS FORNITE. BLACKPINK HAS PUBG," while another said, "So we got BTS on AGT, TikTok from vhope, BTS x fila, jisoo on tasty square, blackpink x pubg, blackpink for Elle US all in one day. Armyblinks spoiled btches wbk."



 



 

Not much has been revealed about the collaboration, but BlackPink members Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa are expected to be realized as special playable avatars. Players will also be able to purchase special BlackPink-themed airdrop boxes, cars and lightsticks. On the music side, BlackPink recently broke YouTube’s record for biggest music video premiere after releasing their single 'Ice Cream' featuring Selena Gomez. The track reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
