'The Flash' Season 6 Episode 5: Killing Cynthia just to give Cisco a story is disrespectful, say angry fans
The latest episode of 'The Flash; titled 'Kiss, Kiss Breach Breach' was a Cisco-centric episode. It was arguably a filler episode, yet with some strong and poignant moments and an ending that made fans sit up with shock.
The episode was essentially a murder-mystery game with Cisco at the heart of it. His ex-girlfriend Gypsy was killed off, and her father Breach made a dramatic comeback to find out who killed her. Turns out it was... Cisco. Only, it wasn't. It was Echo.
After much talk about hope, faith, healing, sweet moments between Cisco and Kamilla, Cisco managed to prove his innocence. However, fans were not entirely happy about Cynthia's death.
One fan tweeted, "I guess the writers wanted us to know Cynthia and Cisco weren’t the endgame. I was definitely NOT expecting that to be the impetus for this episode though."
Another wrote, "I don’t like that they killed Cynthia to give Cisco a story... very disrespectful." "This sucks that Cynthia is dead. Loved her character with Cisco", one viewer wrote.
One fan angrily wrote, "YALL FRIDGED CYNTHIA TO KEEP HURTING CISCO ASK ME HOW TIRED I AM !!!! VERY TIRED !!!"
Other fans were very emotional about the Cynthia storyline in the episode. One wrote, "Awe. Cisco's moment there was touching about Cynthia."
A fan put a crying gif for when Breacher told Cisco that Cynthia was dead, "Breacher to Cisco: "It's Cynthia, she's dead." Some fans were more emotional about the fact that Cynthia died thinking Echo was Cisco. "Hold on do y’all think that Cynthia died thinking that Echo was Cisco and Cisco killed her?"
One viewer wrote, "Cisco talking about how he’ll never forget Cynthia... My heart." Meanwhile, the episode of 'The Flash' had a jolt of an ending, as Nash announced that he had found a way to save Barry Allen in the impending 'Crisis Of Infinite Earths.' The fifth episode of 'The Flash' aired on November 5, CW.
