'The Flash' Season 6 Episode 5:Fans don't know whether to trust Harrison Nash Wells after he declares he can save Barry Allen
'The Flash' has been running high on the emotional quotient lately, as Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) has been preparing his family and friends for his eventual death or disappearance during the 'Crisis on Infinite Earths'. There have been touching goodbyes and speeches, and we are running out of tissues. Yet, if Harrison Nash Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is to be believed, that might not be the case. At the end of the episode, he triumphantly announces that he might have found a way to save Barry. Please don't get our hopes up, Nash!
However, fans have dared to hope and are quite excited to see what Nash can do to save our hero.
One fan tweeted, "I knew Wells would have a plan to save Barry."
"He knows how to save Barry he says? Heh, we'll see and this 007 like episode I'm just invest in it (sic)," one fan tweeted. Another fan theorized that Echo could be used to save Barry. "Is this how they gonna save Barry. Have Echo switch him out with another Barry?" Another wrote, "Cause, I know how to save Barry Allen.” Well, this is very different for Wells."
"What a melancholy end to this episode. Bittersweet for Cisco, but setting up for next week when Nash tells us how he can save Barry," one viewer tweeted. Meanwhile, there were a few who like this fan who shared an excited dancing gif, to show happiness at the thought of Nash saving Barry. "I have some faith Nash will save Barry," read a fan's tweet.
However, some fans still remain doubtful of Nash's intentions. "Oliver [Arrow] will save Barry, not you," A user wrote, confident that Nash couldn't be bothered to do something like this. Echoing the same, another viewer wrote saying: "Nash can save Barry? I don’t know about this."
In the comics, Barry dies during the Crisis. One fan hoped that the show will stay true to the story. "Part of me just wishes they would let Barry die like he’s supposed to in Crisis, the whole he’s gonna die we gotta save him trope gets kinda old, but I know they won’t do that."
Can Barry be saved? Only the next few episodes can answer that question.
