If you're a fan of 'The Curse Of Oak Island', then you'll be overtly familiar with the Knights Templar references. Last season, the team's fellow historians had told them that there was a geometric figure in Nicolas Poussin's paintings, which could lead to the buried treasure. In Episode 4, the team found a "perfect line" that starts from Jerusalem, leads through Versailles and ends at Oak Island. They're convinced that the Knights Templar dug up Solomon's treasure that consisted of the Menorah, which might have been taken to North America for safekeeping. The Menorah could have been buried at Oak Island, perhaps. And now, they're trying to analyze a 'serpent mound', which they're sure dates back to the Knights Templar.

For those who are unversed to what exactly the Knights Templar order is, they were a religious and holy order, that is believed to have acquired a staggering amount of treasure. There has been much Templar symbolism on the island, including the discovery of the lead cross that led to this strong belief that the Templars buried their treasure here.

And now, they've just discovered charcoal that could have dated back to the ancient order. Could it all be connected? Are the Knights indeed, behind the Oak Island mystery? Fans are not buying it. "Wait what, Templar charcoal...? #OakIslandCursers #CurseOfOakIsland," one wrote. "I just want to know if the Templars had a Templar choir. #OakIslandCursers #CurseofOakIsland," another mocked. "It may be a crazy theoru, but we got a TEMPLAR REFERENCE! DRINK!!!," noted the Twitter handle that conducts the famous Oak Island drinking game. "Ok guys.... we're just makin up stuff now right???" one asked. A fan wrote, "@CurseOfOak Rick, Marty, Team. I was just thinking about #curseofOakIsland and if I wanted to hide treasure, I would make one vault EASIER to find. And the real one totally on the other side of the island. If you find the less hidden vault, one would think the treasure is gone."

Well, the team is still trying to unravel the mystery. Did the Knights Templar bury treasure on the island? What is their connection to the mystery?

'The Curse Of Oak Island' airs on History Channel on Tuesdays at 9 pm.
