'The Christmas Doctor': Meet Holly Robinson Peete, Adrian Holmes and rest of the cast of Hallmark festive film
Get the Christmas decorations out, make a list of dishes to make and the movies to watch. Yes, we know there’s still more than a month left for Christmas but there’s no harm in preparing for the holiday season in advance. Movie buffs, take note. You may already have a list of movies to watch during the festive season, but Hallmark’s new offering ‘The Christmas Doctor’ has all the potential to make it to your list.
According to the press release, the film focuses on Zoey. She is a traveling doctor who prefers short assignments to staying put. Two weeks before Christmas she is assigned to a small-town clinic upstate while the town’s only doctor recovers from surgery. Once she arrives, she is greeted by the town’s intriguing residents, as well as the handsome software engineer Luke. As the holidays draw near, Zoey can’t help but be charmed by this town and its people and is surprised when she starts to feel at home. So what does the future hold for Zoey and Luke? Just wait for the weekend to get the answer.

Holly Robinson Peete as Zoey
She has been part of the Fox TV police drama ‘21 Jump Street’, ABC sitcom ‘Hangin' with Mr.Cooper’ and the NBC/WB sitcom ‘For Your Love’. She was also part of projects like ‘Chicago Fire’ and ‘Mike & Molly’. Her children's book which she wrote with her daughter Ryan Elizabeth Peete, ‘My Brother Charlie’, got her an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work in 2011. In 2016, a reality series titled ‘For Peete's Sake’ debuted, documenting the everyday life of her family.
Adrian Holmes as Luke
Holmes is known for his role in films like 'Elysium', ‘A Christmas Horror Story’ and ' Red Riding Hood'. He was also part of Netflix's ‘V Wars’, a horror science-fiction show and the hit Amazon Prime Video show ‘The Boys’. For the Bravo television series ‘19-2’, he had won a Canadian Screen Award. He was also part of the popular series ‘Arrow’. His other film credits include ‘Chained’, ‘Debug’ and ‘Skyscraper’.
The rest of the cast includes Fred Henderson, Bronwen Smith, Nicole Anthony, Marlie Collins, Rhinnan Payne, Colleen Winton, Chris Wood, Mike Wasko, Alexander Jones, Rhona Rees, Eva Day, Sharon Crandall, Meghan Gardiner, Donny Lucas, Alvin Sanders, Eric Pollins and Kevin Tovaragui.
‘The Christmas Doctor’ is produced by Help Road Productions Ltd. Charles Cooper serves as producer. The executive producers are Orly Adelson, Danielle Jackson, Holly Robinson Peete, Allen Lewis, Al Roker and Michael Shepard. It is directed by Kevin Fair and the script is by Neal Dobrofsky and Tippi Dobrofsky. A short preview on their website introduces us to the leads and some of the supporting characters. Peete’s character seems to be extremely caring about her patients, but there are some feelings that she is trying to suppress. And the video also hints at the budding romance between Peete’s and Holmes’ characters.
‘The Christmas Doctor’ premieres on Sunday, November 15, at 10 pm ET on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
