'The Chi' Season 3 Finale Preview: Pastor Jackson's arrest to Kiesha's pregnancy, 5 questions we need answers to
Last week's events that unfolded on 'The Chi' Season 3 is still fresh in our minds. Ronnie's (Ntare Mwine) sudden death and news of Kiesha's (Birgundi Baker) pregnancy shocked the fans. With the season finale all set to air this Sunday, August 23, there are still plenty of unanswered threads that need to be answered. It also has to be noted that 'The Chi' has not been renewed nor canceled yet, so there is still a cloud of uncertainty about the show's future.
However, there's still a lot to look forward to in what appears to be a power-packed finale. For starters, there are a few questions that need answering after watching the promo.
Why is pastor Stanley Jackson arrested?
Considering Jake (Michael V Epps) and Papa (Shamon Brown Jr) are in the frame as well, this might have something to do with the incriminating evidence that Jake found against Douda (Curtiss Cook) in the previous episode. In all probability, pastor Stanley Jackson (Tory O Davis) might be arrested for bribery. We did see him receive money from Camille Hallaway (Lena Waithe) and maybe he also struck a deal with Douda once Camille was off the race. Either this, or he could just be a fall guy for something deeper.
Will Kiesha get an abortion?
This is highly debatable. With the teen coming face-to-face with death, what are the odds she will actually take the call of getting an abortion done? And if she does or doesn't, what will be her state of mind? Kiesha's kidnapping and rescue have been one of the central storylines this season that also brought with it valuable insight into the woman being sexually and mentally abused and a message to curb it to the max. Should there be a season 4, this storyline will most probably spillover.
Is this the last we've seen of Dom and Trig?
Most probably. 'The Chi' Season 3's IMDb credit list has La La Anthony starring as Dom for five episodes and the final episode isn't mentioned. This could mean that she will either quit working with Emmett (Jacob Latimore) for Smokey's. The flirtatious chemistry between her and Darnell (Rolando Boyce) might just be a hint that she's moving on from the one-time fling with Emmett. The same goes for James's Trig. He's part of seven episodes and we will see him in the finale, but after that, it just might be a happy ending for him and Jake.
Will Jada and Tomas get married?
Hopefully yes. They seem to know what they are doing and this hopefully means a bright start for the duo. After the bad flings and a sad and pathetic partner in Darnell, it is refreshing to see her get a real, loving partner.
What's next for the Papa, Kevin, and Jake?
Each of these kids has suffered some form of trauma and have matured in their own ways. Papa's father being arrested has to be the biggest blow for the kind-hearted and lovable teen. Jake's custody battles were one of the highlights of the season, while Kevin's love life is now hanging in the balance. If there is a next season, we might see these teens have some radical changes.
