British Bulldog's son Davey Boy Smith Jr wanted by cops after fight with Jake "The Snake" Roberts
Wrestling legend British Bulldog’s son, Davey Boy Smith Jr, 32, is wanted by the cops after he had an altercation with wrestler Jake "The Snake" Roberts.
Smith Jr née Harry Smith is "wanted for battery" after he allegedly threw coffee in Roberts' face at a WrestleCon event in New Orleans on April 7 at WrestleMania 34.
The New Orleans Police Department released a statement saying, "The NOPD is investigating a simple battery incident that occurred on April 7, 2018 in the 500 block of Canal Street. The victim told police that at about 11 am, he was signing autographs at the location when he was approached by a known subject, later identified as Harry Smith (DOB: 08-02-1985)," The Sun reported.
According to the police, Roberts attempted to shake hands with Smith Jr but a verbal argument ensued and Smith Jr reportedly threw a cup of coffee at Roberts' face and ran away from the scene. The cops said that no other injuries were reported by Roberts.
While the cops are on the lookout for Smith Jr, they asked people to get in touch with them if they had any information on the New Japan Pro Wrestling star. In any case, Smith Jr, the former WWE star, has already admitted the battery incident during his recent interview with WrestleZone.com.
In his interview with the outlet, Smith Jr said Roberts, who's also a wrestling champion, refused to apologize for his theatrics in the ring during the 80s and 90s. He added that Roberts didn't issue an apology for comments made against his father, the British Bulldog, who was hailed for defeating Canadian-American wrestler Bret Hart for the Intercontinental Title at Wembley Stadium at SummerSlam 92. British Bull Dog died in May 2002 of a heart attack. He was 39.
Smith Jr said he wanted to settle his differences with Roberts however, the latter wasn't keen. It was at that time that Smith Jr threw a cup of coffee at Roberts. He now faces six months in jail with a fine upto $1000.
