‘Bachelorette’ suitors get second chance at love after ABC axes Taylor Frankie Paul’s season over controversy
'The Bachelorette' Season 2, starring Taylor Frankie Paul, may have been shelved, but the man who competed to win her over gets a second chance at love. The 31-year-old star of 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' made history when she was announced as the first bachelorette outside of the 'Bachelor' franchise. But in what came as a dampener, ABC pulled the plug on Season 22. With the show now canceled, the focus has moved to the fate of the men who participated.
It's worth noting that 22 men were on the list to win Paul over. Aaron Kahng, Brandon Perce, Casey Hux, Clayton Johnson, Christopher Wood, Conrad Ukropina, Johnnie LaRossa, Doug Mason, and Josh Harward were some of the names. Other names, including Mike Turitto, Richard Van De Water, Rod Strozier, Ronn Perez, Shane Parton, and Trenten Merrill, were contestants featured on the show.
While it is unfortunate that fans will not see the men take each other on for Taylor, they still have the opportunity to see these eligible bachelors in the future seasons of 'Bachelor in Paradise'. Per TMZ, a virtual meeting was held with the contestatnts where the terms of their contracts were discussed. For those unaware, the deal is fully in effect for one year. In addition, the outlet added that the executives had notified these men to continue upholding the network guidelines, as they were still in the deal. What is unclear at the time of writing is how many of them will be invited. ABC's decision to cancel Paul's Bachelorette season was regarded as the right call. The opportunity to move to 'BIP' was also met with positive opinions, considering the dire situation they were in.
Earlier this month, ABC canceled the show after footage of Paul's altercation with his ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, went viral on social media. She was arrested and had charges of aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury, and criminal mischief. For now, the good news is these men get another chance to find the love of their life.
