South Korean K-pop girl group Blackpink is all set to release their first-ever full-length album titled 'The Album'. The YG Entertainment managed group has been teasing the album for weeks now. After releasing individual promotional posters of each of the four members followed by a teaser video, the group has now dropped the first look of an upcoming single titled 'Lovesick Girls'.

The teaser poster was posted on the official YG Entertainment handle and retweeted by the official Blackpink account. The tweet read, "#BLACKPINK ‘Lovesick Girls’ TEASER POSTER1st FULL ALBUM ’THE ALBUM’ 2020.10.02 12am EST & 1pm KST #블랙핑크 #1stFULLALBUM #THEALBUM #Title #LovesickGirls #TeaserPoster #20201002_12amEST #20201002_1pmKST #Release #YG"

The neon-colored teaser poster shows the four Blackpink members – Jessie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé – standing next to each other in front of a dark background looking weary and lost or, in other words, lovesick.

Blackpink fans were extremely excited about the new poster and immediately expressed it through their tweets. One fan, happy about the impending release of group's first studio album, tweeted, "I’m so excited I might actually cry, they’re finally getting their album. I will forever love these girls," while another, talking about the teaser poster's feel, chimed in to say, "But, on a serious note, just look at them leaning on each other. It hits different. They're sending a message. Look at how Lisa feeling the moment with her eyes closed. #JENLISA #BLACKPINK"

Another Blackpink fan, talking about Lisa and Jennie's look on the poster, wrote, "The way Lisa side hugged Jennie and Jennie held Lisa's hand while leaning onto her shoulder. I'm melting." A different fan, calling for support for the K-pop group's upcoming album while ignoring 'akgae' fans, wrote, "Don’t give akgaes attention, if you do then they win. Five days till 'The Album', get yourselves ready! @BLACKPINK."

More fans talked about their excitement for the new album. One fan tweeted, "Words cannot describe how excited I am for 'Lovesick Girls' and BP1 overall. It's really happening y’all!" while another, theorizing the meaning behind the title, said, "what if the song is about girls falling in love with each other after being tired & sick of men because they only give heartbreaks?"

Another fan, trying to decode the meaning behind the song title, wrote, "When you think of the title of the song ‘Lovesick Girls’ you associate it with the hurt and pain of love, making you look forward to the new story that BLACKPINK will tell. @BLACKPINK is increasing their comeback fever by showing various teaser contents ahead of their comeback."
