'The 100' Season 7 Countdown: Who is most likely to die in the final season?

With Jason Rothenberg — the show's creator and showrunner for all seven seasons — we never know what could come next

The final season of 'The 100' is a month away from premiering on The CW and the anticipation is high. On a show known for bringing the most unexpected deaths at the most unexpected times, we wonder who would be in danger and who would be safe in the final season.

Of course, with Jason Rothenberg — the show's creator and showrunner for all seven seasons — we never know what could come. The characters we think might die could be absolutely safe, but then again, JRoth might just take them away to make a point — that this is a story about survival and not everyone makes it through.

Some of the most painful deaths over the past seasons included those of Finn Collins, Jasper Jordan, Lexa, Lincoln and others. Let's take a look at who we think might die in the upcoming season of 'The 100'.

Clarke Griffin

Clarke and Madi (The CW)

This is certainly a tough one. Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor) has been the lead of the show since it first premiered in 2014. She has been forced to make difficult decisions time and time again in order to ensure the survival of her people. Moreover, she has lost many people along the way — starting with her father Jake Griffin (Chris Browning), Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and most recently her mother Abby Griffin (Paige Turco).

She even seemed resigned to give up herself in the previous season when her body was taken over by Josephine Lightbourne. However, she still fought. Clarke was racked with guilt over the deaths of all the people who had been killed in the past. It did not help that half her peers had turned against her because of the events of Season 5.

It might be likely that her fight will be over by the final episode of the show. That could leave behind a heartbroken Madi Griffin (Lola Flanery) and Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley) to mourn for her.

However, just because it's 'The 100', we might just expect Clarke to survive. But if that's the case, either Madi or Bellamy could be killed just to give Clarke some more pain before the show comes to an end.

John Murphy

Emori and Murphy (The CW)

John Murphy (Richard Harmon) has survived so many times on 'The 100' that he has been dubbed "the cockroach". This is exactly why we think he might not make it post the events of Season 7.

Murphy has always flip-flopped between being moral and otherwise. He puts his own needs in front of others, that is, of course, until Emori (Luisa D'Oliveira) came. Which side Murphy fought on always depended on where he could get the most advantage from, most recently seen in Season 6. However, his moral compass has kicked in at times leading him to make the right decisions.

Over the years, Clarke and Murphy have come to a different kind of understanding. Perhaps, Murphy might make the ultimate sacrifice in the final season, the kind we would never expect him to do but will nonetheless make a lot of sense.

Octavia Blake

Octavia and Bellamy (The CW)

Octavia Blake's (Marie Avgeropoulos) death is more or less a certainty. After all, when we last saw her, she had been stabbed by Hope Diyoza (Shelby Flannery) and was taken in by the anomaly. While we might see Octavia again, it is highly unlikely that she may make it through the season alive.

Octavia has been through a lot since the beginning of the season. She has had to hide her existence and was arrested for the crime of being the secondborn in a society that just allowed for one child per family — something she was punished for despite no fault of her own.

She made a connection with Lincoln (Ricky Whittle) over the first and second seasons only to painfully lose him in the third. Since then, Octavia has only been fighting and by the fifth season, she lost her brother, Bellamy.

She started redeeming herself in Season 6 and it's more than likely that her redemption could end in death. Would Octavia be able to live in a world of peace after everything she has been through?
