What happened to Katie Smith?
Smith posted a picture on Instagram from the crash that occurred in Nashville on Wednesday, February 22 night. Smith claims to have been driving an SUV that was completely wrecked, as per TMZ. According to her, a semi struck the car after running a red light.
Smith posted pictures of her wounds. The right half of her face appeared to have been completely bruised and swollen. She claims that her vehicle made several complete somersaults. Smith also claims that she's currently having trouble walking. Her face is "basically broken," according to Smith, and she "can't walk" on her right side. “Thankful to be alive,” Smith writes.
Smith also took a minute to express her gratitude to her friends and family for supporting her after the accident, saying that things could have been "so much worse", WTNJ reported
“Since I’m posted up right now I just want to say that as traumatic as last night was — it was really so beautiful,” she writes. “Between sweet friends/family around, all the love and support, being alive after every doctor that walked by said ‘they shouldn’t be alive, and he definitely shouldn’t be alive,’ it could have been so much worse.”
Caden McGuire, a friend of Smith's, was also in the car when it crashed, per the tags on her post. On his own page, he appears to confirm this, posting the same image of the destroyed car alongside a photo of himself covered in bandages. “I’m running out of lives but I ain’t dead yet,” he says in his post. Furthermore, the situation of the truck driver was not disclosed by Smith.
Since the accident, Smith has been unwinding at home with her mother and friends. Wallen has not offered any remarks on the incident. Additionally, on March 3, the country artist is scheduled to release a new album, 'One Thing at a Time'.
Wallen has achieved his eighth No. 1 hit single in his career
