LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hugh Grant has admitted to losing his temper with a woman on the set of his latest movie, 'Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves'. The incident occurred on the first day of filming, as Grant explains to Total Film magazine: "I lost my temper with a woman in my eye line on day one. I assumed she was some executive from the studio who should have known better." However, he soon discovered that the woman was actually a local chaperone who was there to supervise a child actor on set. Grant expressed regret for his behavior, saying, "Terrible. A lot of groveling...."

Grant went on to compare his outburst to Christian Bale's infamous on-set outburst during the filming of 'Terminator Salvation' in 2009. "I did a Christian Bale," he said. "But I think he was shouting at a director of photography. I was shouting at a child chaperone. It was not my finest hour." Like Bale, Grant acknowledged that his behavior was unacceptable and expressed remorse for his actions.

Grant's battles with anger

Grant has had his fair share of public meltdowns, as he has openly admitted to occasionally having a short temper. In fact, former 'Daily Show' host Jon Stewart once called Grant one of his worst guests, referring to him as "a big pain in the ass." “Turns out my inner crab got the better of me with TV producer in ’09. Unforgivable. J Stewart correct to give me kicking,” said Grant in a response tweet.

Grant acknowledged his behavior on the show during an interview with Andy Cohen in 2015, saying, "He wasn't entirely wrong. I did have a tantrum backstage. About once a year, I have a really mega-tantrum, and sadly he witnessed one. So he's absolutely right."

In 2020, the actor known for his role in 'Notting Hill' confessed to taking a break from acting due to his negative attitude, which ultimately led to a decline in job opportunities. According to Los Angeles Times, the actor stated, "I started to develop a bad attitude around 2005, shortly after 'Music and Lyrics.' I had simply had enough." However, the actor made a comeback in 2009, only to face rejection from Hollywood after his film with Sarah Jessica Parker, 'Did You Hear About The Morgans?' flopped. He added, "At that point, it wasn't me giving up Hollywood. Hollywood gave me up because I made such a massive turkey with that film."

Grant thrilled to play 'loser' in D&D movie

Grant is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of the popular tabletop roleplaying game 'Dungeons & Dragons'. The movie is titled 'Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves', and the cast includes big names like Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, and Rege-Jean Page. The film is scheduled to be released on March 31, and Grant revealed to Collider in December that he was particularly drawn to the script's portrayal of the characters as 'losers.'

"What I responded to most in their script was that it's about losers. This little band of comrades, they're all a bit crap," Grant explained. He went on to describe the characters, including Pine's bard character who "isn't great at being a bard," Justice's sorcerer character who "is not much good," and Rodriguez's barbarian character who "has been thrown out of whatever" but is "still in love with her husband, who is in love with someone else." Fans of the game and the actors involved are eagerly awaiting the release of the film, which promises to bring a fresh take on the beloved Dungeons & Dragons universe.
