Snapchat recently released the first official trailer for their new original docuseries, 'Tekashi69 VS The World,' and the up-to-the-minute docuseries captures the rise and fall of controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine as part of its new VS The World franchise.

The controversial rapper's real name is Daniel Hernandez and he is set apart by his rainbow-hued hair, tattooed face, public feuds with fellow celebrities, and frequent brushes with the law. The inaugural season will put the spotlight on the rapper's earliest days growing up in Brooklyn, through his chart-topping career and star-studded collaborations, to his trouble with the FBI and eventual incarceration. The series also features exclusive interviews with his close friends and collaborators.

6ix9ine first gained success with his 2017 debut single 'Gummo' which became a national hit and went on to grab number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. His mixtape 'Day69' and his single 'Fefe', featuring fellow rapper Nicki Minaj and producer Murda Beatz took his popularity to new heights.

Tekashi transformed from a bodega employee in Bushwick, Brooklyn, to a heavily tattooed musician popular for his attention-seeking posts on social media. It is his controversies that earned him a bad name. He was arrested on federal racketeering charges in 2018 and currently faces 37 years to life in prison.

The 29-second clip on YouTube features snippets from his life. Each season of Snap’s new franchise VS The World will explore the life and journey of some of the biggest names in hip hop, sports, and entertainment culture, with exclusive footage, commentary, and a totally original perspective.

Produced by Complex, the new docuseries premieres this Saturday, December 21 on the Discover page. Not the only series, Snap is also set to release more such minseries, including one featuring Nikita Dragun and Alabama State‘s plus-sized dance squad 'The Honeybeez'. Snap is also producing bite-sized Creator Shows alongside top digital stars like Emma Chamberlain, Maddie Ziegler, Denzel Dion, The Real Tarzann, and FaZe Banks.
