Taylor Swift to open 2019 Billboard Music Awards with premiere performance of newly released single ‘ME!’

Swift is a 23-time BBMA winner and with 'ME!' she returns to the BBMA performance stage for the first time since 2013.

Taylor Swift is making up for how long she made fans wait for her new music video. On Friday morning, Dick Clark Productions and NBC announced that Swift will be opening the Billboard Music Awards this year with the worldwide premiere performance of her smash hit new song “ME!” featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco. 

Enduring a barrage of cryptic posts and going on mad clue hunts for the new music video 'ME!' Swifties loyalty towards their superstar was clearly evident when her video, which is currently the rage, received more than 26 million hits since it launched 12 am ET; and became the fastest music video in history to reach more than 10 million views - reaching the milestone in just two hours.

Swift returns to the BBMA performance stage for the first time since 2013.

 Needless to say, this performance from Swift is a treat that all her fans deserve. Along with Swift, there will be some serious star-power on stage at the BBMA.  She joins previously announced performers Paula Abdul, BTS featuring Halsey, Ciara, Kelly Clarkson, Lauren Daigle, Dan + Shay, Halsey, Jonas Brothers, Tori Kelly, Khalid, Madonna and Maluma and Panic! At The Disco, plus a special performance by 2019 ICON Award recipient, Mariah Carey.

Swift is a 23-time BBMA winner and with 'ME!' she returns to the BBMA performance stage for the first time since 2013.  Once again nominated this year, she has received nods in two categories: Top Female Artist and Top Touring Artist.

The 2019 Billboard Music Awards with returning host Kelly Clarkson, will broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and will feature this year’s hottest musical acts. Be sure to tune in
