Taylor Swift has ‘lots going on’ with TikTok debut, fans say it 'feels unreal'

The 31-year-old songstress made her debut with a lip-sync video to British rapper Dave’s song ‘Screwface Capital’

TikTok has witnessed several trends on Taylor Swift’s music in the last few years but now the R&B superstar herself debuted on the popular video-making app helping her fans get rid of the Monday blues. The Grammy-winning crooner surprised everyone as she posted a tweet about her debuting on the app while simultaneously breaking the Internet.
 
Social media users rushed to TikTok as the singer apparently became the fastest person to score a million followers. The 31-year-old songstress made her debut with a lip-sync video to British rapper Dave’s song ‘Screwface Capital’ which mentions her by name. Swift quickly broke the Internet as her loyal fans erupted with joy on Twitter. The ‘Folklore’ hitmaker also used this opportunity to announce the vinyl pre-sale of ‘Red’ (the singer’s version).

Taylor Swift surprises fans with TikTok debut

In her very first TikTok video, Taylor Swift got decked up in a black turtleneck with bright red lips, as she lip-synced the lyrics, “I made a link with the Russians / Six figure discussions, dinners in public / My linen all tailored / My outstanding payments swift like Taylor / And boy I owe ‘dem men a beatin’.” Each line of the song featured a different clip of Swift’s music releases from the past year. The bio of Taylor Swift’s TikTok account currently reads, “This is pretty much just a cat account.” She had captioned the very first post as, “Lots going on at the moment: Red (my version) vinyl is up for presale on my site and oh I'm on tiktok [sic] now let the games begin," adding a smiling cat emoji and the hashtag #SwiftTok.
 
The multi-platinum singer and songwriter announced her arrival on TikTok with a tweet that read, “Red (my version) vinyl is up for presale on my site and oh I’m on tiktok now let the games begin #SwiftTok” The official Twitter account of TikTok too replied to the singer’s post saying, “taylor brought us all together.” Taylor Swift, as of now, has not shed light on what kind of content she will be dropping on the app, but as, of now, fans are surely basking in the news of her debut. The singer, now, joins the likes of celebrities like Avril Lavigne, Cher and John Mayer who debuted on TikTok in 2021.

Swifties erupted with joy the moment they got to know about Swift debuting on the video-sharing app. Speaking on the same, one user stated, “Why does Taylor Swift looks like she is impersonating taylor swift on tiktok here.” Another user added, “Taylor swift being active on tiktok feels so unreal.” Whereas, one fan tweeted, “taylor swift joining tiktok and making everyone's day better with her beauty.”
