Premiered on Netflix on February 24, 2021, 'Ginny & Georgia' is making headlines for all the wrong reasons after viewers observed that show disrespected pop star Taylor Swift with misogynistic dialogues. The brand new show on the streaming giant may be getting a lot of love from fans but they are surely not in the mood to accept the distasteful remarks made against the singer.

‘Ginny & Georgia’ follows Ginny Miller, a 15-year-old who is more mature than her 30-year-old mother Georgia in a New England town. In one of the episodes, we see Ginny telling Georgia on different occasions, “You go through men faster than Taylor Swift” and “Taylor Swift made an entire career off her exes”.

They soon took over Twitter to slam the Netflix show for slut-shaming and misogynistic dialogues. One user said, “Shaming women in 2021? funny bc i never see anything like this about men. RESPECT TAYLOR SWIFT.” Another stated, “2021 and people have yet to know that being sexist will never be a joke. RESPECT TAYLOR SWIFT.”

One user added, “Im just so...... women cant even exist at this point without being shamed, its almost like they forget that taylor has been in a committed relationship for about 5 years now.... i can assure you the joke is SO old and not even the slightest bit funny. RESPECT TAYLOR SWIFT.” The next one asserted, “If those script writers thought of these lines as jokes, are they really that dumb? Being misogynistic and slut-shaming people has never been a joke. Taylor has been slut-shamed throughout her entire career and she doesn't deserve it, no one else does! RESPECT TAYLOR SWIFT.”

One posted, “I dont want to see my idol talked about like that ever again.” Another concluded, “WE ARE IN THE 21st CENTURY, IT IS TIME THAT WE ALL UNDERSTAND THAT A WOMAN CAN DO WHATEVER SHE WANTS AND THAT DOESNT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO SHAME HER.” One more said, "IT’S 2021 AND WE ARE STILL DOING THIS BULLSHIT!? STOP SLUT SHAMING AND RESPECT TAYLOR SWIFT."
