LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Looks like Taylor Swift has been dropping Easter eggs all along. In the wake of Taylor Swift’s break up with British actor Joe Alwyn, fans have found out an interesting piece of information. It has been uncovered that from March 31 onwards there has been a major change in the ‘Lover’ singer’s sets of her ‘The Eras Tour’. In the gig at Arlington, Texas, the multiple Grammy-winning musician first replaced the song ‘Invisible String’ with her break-up song ‘The 1’ in the ‘Folklore’ section of the concert. Since then, it has become the regular norm.

It is speculated by fans that Swift, who is currently on her ‘The Eras Tour’, wrote the ‘Invisible String’ dedicating her then-boyfriend, the 'Boy Erased' star, Joe Alwyn. Thus, replacing ‘Invisible String’ with the sad tune ‘The 1’ was a major giveaway.

'Can’t wait for the divorce song': Taylor Swift trolled for secret engagement to Joe Alwyn

It seems like while the news of their break up came on Saturday as Entertainment Tonight reported it first, all was not well between the fan-favorite couple for quite a few days. The couple was first linked together in May 2017, as reported by US Weekly. While the exact date of their first meeting is not known, it is speculated that the pair first met during the 2016 MET Gala.

'Always bonded over music'

Under the pseudonym of William Bowery, Alwyn has collaborated with Swift on some of her songs too, like ‘Betty’ and ‘Exile’ from ‘Folklore’ and ‘Champagne Problems’, ‘Coney Island’, and ‘Evermore’ from ‘Evermore’. In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in December 2020, Swift said, "Joe and I really love sad songs. We've always bonded over music," before adding, "We write the saddest songs. We just really love sad songs. What can I say?"

In March 2021, Swift announced on stage while accepting the ‘Album of the Year’ for ‘Evermore’, “Joe, who is the first person that I play every single song that I write,” she gushed before continuing, “And I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine,” reports US Weekly.

Swift’s list of breakup songs

The ‘Anti-Hero’ crooner has an enviable list of breakup songs at her disposal. Her song ‘All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)’ and ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ are speculated by fans to be about Jake Gyllenhaal, with whom Swift was in a short relationship in 2010. Meanwhile, ‘Forever & Always’ is speculated by fans to be commemorative of her lost love with Joe Jonas whom she dated in 2008. ‘Out of The Woods’, and ‘Style’ are thought to be about Harry Styles whom she dated between 2012-13. ‘Back to December’ is speculated by fans to be about Taylor Lautner whom she famously dated in 2009.

'The ultimate easter egg'

One fan mused, "Is this why she switched the set list from invisible string to the 1 #TaylorSwift." Another commented, "No no no I don't have a weird parasocial relationship with Taylor Swift I just cried in my car thinking about how she switched invisible string out for the 1 didn't you????" Another fan commented, "Taylor Swift switching out invisible string for the 1 on the eras tour……..the ultimate easter egg."

Social media users are also anticipating another breakup song by Taylor Swift in the wake of her split. "I'm not saying you should like her nor am I trying to make you like her, I just can't stand it when you guys have such deeply rooted hate for Taylor swift, like so many people in the music industry write break up song but only Taylor swift is attacked for doing so," supported another Swiftie. "I would never date Taylor Swift, I don't want a break up song written about me to be on the top 100 for like 8 weeks, f**k that noise," mused another social media user.

After the Swift-Alwyn split, one Swiftie joked, "Guess who just moved 1 step closer to being the subject of a Taylor Swift break up song? Only 3-4 billion ahead of me now." ""Can't wait for the new breakup album" It's disrespectful, insensitive, and unacceptable. Taylor Swift is a human being not a break up song machine," reacted another Swiftie harshly.
