LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The lovers are no longer together! In a major turn of events, it has been reported that the ‘Enchanted’ singer Taylor Swift and her ‘Gorgeous’ British boyfriend Joe Alwyn are no longer in ‘ Lavender Haze’ as they have broken up after six years of being together.

The report has it that while the break up happened a few weeks ago, there is no ‘Bad Blood’ between the exes. While earlier it was speculated that the actor, 32, would accompany Swift, 33 in some phases of her record-breaking ‘Eras Tour’, the latest news says the couple has parted ways.

Taylor Swift keeps relationship with Joe Alwyn under wraps as she learns from past mistakes

It has been reported by an insider to ET that the former lovebirds allegedly split under friendly terms, as "it was not dramatic." While talking about the reason, the source added, "The relationship had just run its course. It's why [Alwyn] hasn't been spotted at any shows." The couple first made their relationship official in May 2017.

The news came as a surprise to fans as on March 22, it was reported by People that Alwyn would be accompanying the ‘Anti-Hero’ singer whenever he was able to. A source told People, “Joe will travel with her when he can," before adding, "They are great together. Joe is super supportive of her career."

Taylor Swift-Joe Alwyn relationship timeline

The high-profile couple’s relationship was made public in May 2017, as reported by US Weekly. They met at the 2016 Met Gala and started dating a few months later, reports Page Six. The multiple Grammy-winning singer allegedly dedicated her song ‘Gorgeous’ from the album ‘Reputation’ to her British boyfriend as one fan revealed on Tumblr that during one private listening session Swift "made us all promise that if anyone made any accusations of who this song is about, we will tell them it is 100 percent about her angel boyfriend of one year. This isn't a secret. She wanted us to tell people."

In 2018, Alwyn told British Vogue, "I’m aware people want to know about that side of things," before adding, "I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people." In December, the actor also told Esquire about the relationship, “I didn’t seek advice on that. Because I know what I feel about it.”

In August 2019, Swift hinted at her romance with Alwyn in the smash-hit ‘Lover’ where she sings, “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, but I want ’em all,” hinting at the length of their relationship.

In 2020, Alwyn, under the pseudonym of William Bovery, was credited for collaborating with Swift in her albums ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’, on the tracks ‘Exile’, ‘Betty’, and ‘Champagne Problems’, among others.

In March 2021, Swift announced on stage while accepting the ‘Album of the Year’ for ‘Evermore’, “Joe, who is the first person that I play every single song that I write,” she gushed. “And I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine,” reports US Weekly.

In 2022, Alwyn, talking about their engagement rumor, joked, “If I had a pound for every time I think I’ve been told I’ve been engaged, then I’d have a lot of pound coins. I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say,” reports Elle.

In October 2022, when Swift released ‘Lavender Haze’, she explained to ET, "I happened on the phrase 'lavender haze' when I was watching Mad Men, and I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool, and it turns out that it's a common phrase used in the '50s where they would just describe being in love," before adding, "If you were in the lavender haze that meant you were in that all-encompassing love glow. I thought that was really beautiful." Swift added "I guess, theoretically, when you're in the lavender haze you'll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud. I think a lot of people have to deal with this now, not just 'public figures', because we live in the era of social media, and if the world finds out that you're in love with somebody they're going to weigh in on it," and said, "Like my relationship for six years, we've had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff and we just ignore it. This song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff."

Swift's high-profile exes include Joe Jonas, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer, Harry Styles, Calvin Harris, Taylor Lautner, and Tom Hiddleston, among others.

'You won't remember all my Champagne Problems'

As the news of Swift and Alwyn's split broke, the Internet took to social media to express their grief. One fan dramatized the situation by saying, "Delete, alot of people are asking you to delete, its triggering for so many people, there are people that are fainting and feeling sick, please I'm begging you to delete it, delete right now, people are crying." "I- Oh ... I don't know what to say. Six whole damn years?! ... They wrote songs together. Oh my, they wrote champagne problems together. She wrote DRESS about him... o my LORD," said another fan. One fan rightly said, "This is a ‘zayn leaving one direction’ level pop culture event." "AINT NO WAY SHE LITERALLY MADE A WHOLE ALBUM CALLED LOVER FILLED WITH LOVE SONGS FOR JOE AND ALSO GORGEOUS??? LIKE WTF THEY WERE SO PERFECT," said another.

There are dissenters also. One fan quipped, "Thank god, maybe her next album will actually be good now." "She can never keep a man," said another. The third commented, "Now he’s just another song."
