TJ Holmes and Amy Robach taken off air as 'GMA' hosts, new anchors stepping in amid bombshell affair
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: New anchors are on the way to host 'GMA3' as TJ Holmes and Amy Robach have been pulled from the show amid the turmoil created by their bombshell scandal uncovered last week. During an internal phone call Monday, ABC News President Kim Godwin shared that the two will no longer anchor the regular 1.pm broadcast. In the call, Godwin reportedly complained to staff that the alleged affair had become an "internal and external distraction" and that the GMA brand was being questioned.
This week, ABC National Correspondent Stephanie Ramos and Transportation Correspondent Gio Benitez will host GMA3 until ABC learns how to deal with the PR disaster, the Daily Mail has learned. "After a lot of thought, I am taking Amy and TJ off the air as we figure this out," the president said. Although the love affair between the co-hosts is said to have begun in March or August, when they both separated from their respective spouses, the GMA president added, "it does not violate the company policy. According to Kim, the decision to remove the two from their anchor positions was crucial to the "GMA" brand, while "there is massive confusion internally,' a source told the station.
