Producers 'shocked' but news as usual at 'GMA' amid Amy Robach and TJ Holmes explosive love affair
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The 'Good Morning America' hosts Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Whit Johnson who manned the anchor desk on Thursday morning went ahead with reporting the news as usual. The hosts didn't mention anything about the leak of Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, who allegedly carried on a months-long affair, with some reports suggesting it has been going on since March when they were training together for the New York City Half Marathon.
The producers, of the show, however, are "shocked" to learn that Amy and Holmes are in a relationship that they had been trying "very hard to hide." In the wake of the affair news, they even deactivated their Instagram accounts. However, reports have been simultaneously pouring that the co-hosts had parted with their spouses in August, but everything remains clouded so far.

A 'GMA' staffer claimed to Page Six on Wednesday, “They have a very cozy relationship on air, but that is what is expected. But they were very careful behind the scenes to keep their affair secret.” “The producers at ‘GMA’ are shocked to hear they are having an affair,” the staffer added. On Thursday the show proceeded, as usual, with the hosts sharing their interviews with former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and French President Emmanuel Macron.
Robach, 49, has been married to actor Andrew Shue since 2010, and Holmes, 45, wed his wife, Marilee Fiebig, that same year. While Robach shares no children with Shue, she does have two kids with her first husband, Tim McIntosh. Holmes has three children, two of whom he shares with ex-Amy Fershon and one with Fiebig.
Photos obtained by the Daily Mail showed the ABC broadcasters recently cozying up to each other and holding hands. Video also showed Holmes grabbing Robach from the behind as she leaned into the trunk of a car to remove an item during a jaunt to a cottage in upstate New York. Eyewitnesses told an outlet that Robach and Holmes were also “very friendly and huggy” at JFK Airport upon returning from Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September.
According to a report, Robach deactivated her Instagram account on Wednesday after receiving a few comments from followers who noticed she had taken off her wedding band and stopped sharing pictures of her husband, Andrew Shue. Holmes' account had already been deactivated after he and Robach had been seen "canoodling" in bars close to ABC News back in May.
