Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell on-set cheating rumors follow a trend from from Liz Taylor to Olivia Wilde
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actors have fallen in love on set since the beginning of Hollywood. Indeed, we're as fixated on these A-list relationships as the movies themselves, with rumors always swirling about closed-door encounters and off-screen love. And when the stars involved are married, the scandals only get larger.
The “incriminating” photos and the deluge of rumors, however, nearly always come with lots of slut-shaming, according to British Vogue. Consider 'Euphoria' stars Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney, the most recent people to be surrounded by rumors of an affair. Nothing a woman in the public eye does or wears escapes judgment from people. Trolls may drive negativity on any dress, tweet, or online post, which is in no way acceptable.

Sydney Sweeney debunks Glen Powell affair rumors
The most recent pair to feed the romance rumor column is Powell and Sweeney. The two have been in Australia filming a new romantic comedy film titled 'Anyone But You', and there were rumors that the two were fast becoming an item.
There's no way for us to know if they're actually dating, but that hasn't stopped the public from speculating about why Powell has broken up with his girlfriend, Gigi Paris, or freaking out over Sweeney being spotted without her engagement ring. But one thing is for certain: although Powell's reputation has been relatively unscathed, Sweeney's has been hit by an upsurge of misogynistic vitriol.
However, Sweeney soon debunked the rumors when she was spotted on a date night with fiance Jonathan Davino. Following the breakup of Powell's three-year relationship with Sweeney's co-star Paris, news of the 'Euphoria' star and her restaurateur fiance spending some "we" time surfaced. The timing seems significant because it followed Powell's alleged breakup. 'The White Lotus' star has been in a relationship with her fiance, the owner of a pizza restaurant, for five years, and they looked really fine on the date.
Elizabeth Taylor was called a 'nymphomaniac'
Looking back at the past, anything Dame Elizabeth Taylor accomplished on the screen is little compared to her hold on the public's imagination. In addition to being a renowned philanthropist and HIV/AIDS activist, Taylor was a trailblazing actress who also won a Best Actress Oscar. However, the main things that come to mind when thinking of her are the number of husbands she had and her affair with Richard Burton in 1963, for which she probably received most of the public's ire.
As rumors of their relationship spread from the 'Cleopatra' set, Taylor was allegedly labeled a nymphomaniac, shunned by Hollywood, and even accused of "erotic vagrancy" by the Vatican, who recommended that her children be taken from her custody. Burton's death in 1984 from a stroke left a void that was never filled by any other husband or partner.
Olivia Wilde was dubbed a 'wh***'
Similar criticism has been leveled towards Olivia Wilde for dating Harry Styles, who appeared in her movie 'Don't Worry Darling'. Following a barrage of slurs accusing the filmmaker of ignoring her children in favor of Styles, calling her a "leech," and saying that she should be ashamed of herself, the director was compelled to block the comments on her Instagram profile. Alleged nude photos of Wilde were published and circulated on the Internet as evidence that she was a "wh***" even though the pics were never verified.
Kristen Stewart was labeled 'homewrecker'
After being seen kissing the film's director, Rupert Sanders, in 2012, Kristen Stewart claimed that she was fired from the 'Snow White' franchise due to slut-shaming. She and 'Twilight' co-star Robert Pattinson were in a prominent relationship at the time. Stewart allegedly "cheated" with Sanders, then 41 years old, married with two children, and in a leadership position, while she was only 22. "Can you believe that Kristen Stewart cheated? Let us know what you think," one publication at the time urged readers to share their opinions, while Fox News referred to her as a "homewrecker." The images went viral once more on the tenth anniversary of their release, and Stewart was once more painted as a villain.
