Jonnie Irwin's wife Jessica details heartfelt way she expresses love for him amid host's cancer battle
HERTFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND: Jessica Holmes, the wife of the 'A Place In The Sun' host, has described the sweet manner she expresses her love for him daily throughout his tough battle with cancer. Jessica shares some of the ways she shows Jonnie Irwin her love each day including leaving notes "just telling him how proud I am of him" in unexpected places like his washbag.
The couple, who have three kids—son Rex, 3, and twins Rafa and Cormac, 2—discuss the struggles they are going through in a devastating interview. Jonnie, 49, was given about six months to live after receiving a stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis that has migrated to his brain. Jessica says she is unable to bear the thought of being a widower and a single mother. Jonnie, who describes himself as "very weak," has been working as he didn't invest in a critical condition coverage for his life insurance. Jessica claims she tucks a brief message expressing her pride in the TV star into his washbag before he leaves for work.

'I just want to be able to bring any bit of fun'
Jessica stated, "I keep telling him that no matter how much he tries and stresses himself out, there's still going to be the s**t that will come after. I keep saying, 'Do what makes you happy, if you want to do something just do it,'" according to The Sun.
Jessica added, "I just want to be able to bring any bit of fun and enjoyment back into his life which is really hard to do, especially with the reality of how much he's struggling on a day-to-day basis." Jonnie's diagnosis has Jessica in denial, and she feels so extremely upset about "how much cancer has ruined the past few years" that she even admits to becoming angry.
'The sole adult with three young boys'
Jessica said, "I can think of the support I'll need and that sort of thing but when it comes to me, my life is the boys. That's enough for me. That's where my thinking stops, it terrifies me that I'm suddenly going to be in a house on my own, the sole adult with three young boys. The prospect of being a single mum and a widow is awful to think about."
Jessica says she fell in love with Jonnie when they first started dating in 2015 because she thought "he would be an amazing dad and life partner." Now, however, she expresses feeling "completely broken" having found out about Jonnie's cancer diagnosis.
