After reuniting with Birdie, Gus, Jepperd, and Birdie decide to journey to a mysterious cave and the sacred tree, which they believe holds the cure for the Sick.
However, Dr Aditya Singh (Adeel Akhtar) knows that he has to sacrifice a deer, which in this case is Gus, to unlock the mystery of the sacred cave in a mysterious cave. Therefore, he joins Zhang's (Rosalind Chao) party with the intent to kill Gus.
He is torn between his desire to save humanity by finding a cure and his moral dilemma of sacrificing an innocent life. As the group travels to the mysterious cave and the sacred tree, tensions rise, and the conflict becomes intense.
In the heat of the moment, Dr Aditya kills Birdie. Gus expresses his deep disappointment, stating that humans do not deserve to live. Subsequently, as tension mounts and the situation escalates, Zhang issues a chilling command to Dr. Aditya to kill Gus. Jepperd, held captive by Zhang's men, is forced to watch helplessly, unable to intervene.
As the episode unfolds, Jepperd finally breaks free from Zhang's men and rushes to stop them from killing Gus. However, Zhang brutally stabs him in the stomach, leaving him wounded and helpless on the ground.
Does Dr Aditya Singh kill Gus?
As 'Sweet Tooth' Season 3 Episode 8 unfolds, Zhang gives a knife to Dr Aditya and instructs him to kill Gus. Reluctantly, Dr Aditya approaches Gus, expressing remorse and apologizing for his actions.
He has a change of heart and instead stabs Zhang's men, creating an opportunity for Gus to escape. He urges Gus to run away. In anger, Zhang retrieves the ax from the sacred tree in a mysterious cave, exposing everyone to the poisonous sap known as the 'Blood of the Earth,' which is the source of the H5G9 virus.
They all begin to convulse and collapse to the ground, overcome by the effects of the poisonous sap.
Gus, in a desperate attempt to save his best friend Jepperd from the virus, believed that sacrificing his blood would somehow halt the virus from spreading. However, his belief in this delusion quickly faded as reality set in.
Gus makes a bold decision and grabs a flare to set fire to the sacred tree. This act reverses the spread of the virus and brings an end to the sickness on Earth. Everyone seems confused about how it happened.
Zhang struggles to accept her daughter's newborn hybrid baby. After burning the tree, humans magically become healthy again, and the sickness ends. So, the remaining humans will live, but the Earth will be inherited by hybrids.
Gus and Wendy's marriage marks a beautiful conclusion to 'Sweet Tooth'
After lifting the curse from Earth, Gus and his friends go back to Yellowstone. A few years later, as Gus grows old, he narrates his story to a group of hybrids.
It appears that Hybrids begin reproducing naturally, giving rise to a new generation of their kind. As Gus narrates the story, a young hybrid with a piggy nose and deer horns, affectionately calls him grandpa. He asks him about Jepperd. It is through memories that an old Gus keeps his Jepperd alive.
An elderly Wendy is also shown seated beside Gus, hinting at a romantic connection between them.
The ending of 'Sweet Tooth' Season 3 suggests that Wendy and Gus entered into a romantic relationship that blossomed into marriage. They started a family and raised children together, finding joy and fulfillment in each other's company.
