'Survivor: Island of the Idols' season 39: Vince goes home with an idol in his pocket and fans can't believe he got blindsided

After his name came up last week during tribal council, Vince clearly knew he was in danger of being eliminated.

'Survivor' season 39 returned to our screens with a brand new episode on Wednesday night, and Vince makes a bad call in an even worse situation.

You might have an alliance in your tribe, but the one thing that no one has control over is that who remains in their tribe, and we got to see that firsthand in this week's episode as we witnessed another blindsided elimination.

Vince has never really fit in with either of the alliances, though the girls included his name in their alliance, he was never around them, and he doesn't really fit with the men in the Lairo tribe either. After his name came up last week during tribal council, Vince clearly knew he was in danger of being eliminated. He did get a chance at getting an idol when he was summoned to the Island of the Idols.

He did the task given to him by Boston 'Rob' Mariano and Sandra Diaz and succeeded by sneaking into the Vokai tribe and getting ashes even though their fire went out due to the rain. In return, he received an immunity idol that he could have used for the next two tribal councils.

After day 8's immunity challenge, though the Lairo tribe had a head start, they lost after having a hard time with the puzzles, which left the Vokai tribe winning the immunity challenge and the reward, sending the Lairo tribe to tribal council.

Prior to the challenge, Vince had tried to convince the women into voting Tom out because of his age, so even if the men voted for Karishma, she wouldn't be the one going out. And even though he had an immunity idol, he decided not to use it. Only if he knew he was going to be blindsided...

When Jeff Probst asked the contestants if anyone had an immunity idol, Vince even though he had one, didn't budge. He ended up sitting quietly, not knowing he was going to be sent home. Tallying the votes, Jeff revealed that Vince received five votes and his time on the island had come to an end. It was a blindsided elimination, as Vince who assumed the women would vote Tom off, voted him off instead.

No one saw it coming, taking to social media after the episode, fans claim Vince made the worst out of an already bad situation and was dumb enough not to use his immunity idol when he had one.

"Vince is an idiot and deserves to go home for not playing his immunity idol that was only good for two tribal councils. #Survivor,' wrote a fan on Twitter.  Adding to that another fan said, "Vince is a moron because he worked so hard for that immunity idol that had to be used within the next 2 tribal councils and then he doesn't play it. He had an 11% chance of getting voted off like everyone else. Has to be 1 of the most bone-headed plays in #Survivor history."

"Boston Rob says what we’re all thinking: “Vince is leaving with an idol in his pocket.” #Survivor," said a fan. While another added, "The giveaway for Vince should have been his conversation with Karishna. If some one can’t give you a name it’s because it’s yours. #Survivor."
