Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) is having a whale of a time throwing curveballs at Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). When the catastrophic 'Crisis On Infinite Earths' commenced, Kara was astonished when she realized that Lex was alive and not dead as she had thought earlier.

The twists and turns kept coming. Lex had been brought back by the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) to play a crucial role in saving the multiverse from the Anti-Monitor's unstoppable and destructive wave of anti-matter.

Yes, who would have thought that the diabolic and scheming Lex Luthor would be a superhero one day?

Lex wasn't done with the surprises, yet. Far from it. When the Paragons were stuck in the Vanishing Point, he replaced the 96-Superman as the Paragon, by rewriting the Book Of Destiny.

And so, when the multiverse was rebirthed again, Kara was in for another rude shock. The diabolic and murderous villain was now everyone's favorite hero and had actually won a Nobel prize!

In the latest teaser for the next episode of 'Supergirl', Kara struggles to come to terms with this new reality. Lex tries to convince her that he won't be committing any horrific sins and can actually help in keeping the terrorist organization Leviathan at bay.

Kara believes that he is the only real villain in this world, but is told that she needs to trust him and join forces with him if she wants the world to be a better place.

What's even more strange? Lena (Katie McGrath) might just join hands with Lex as well if the teaser is to be believed. Lena and Lex had a complicated sibling relationship that ended with Lena killing Lex. Ouch.

Yet, while Lena is baffled with this new bizarre reality of Lex being alive, he asks her to take his side. Has Lex really changed? Or does he actually enjoy being a superhero, as he says? It would be one hell of a watch if Lex, Lena, and Kara are all on the same side and fight Leviathan.

But, you never know. Lena's friendship with Kara is still fractured, and Lex is... well Lex. Both of them have scores to settle.

'Supergirl' returns on January 19, Monday, at 8 pm on The CW.
