Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) might have saved the universe in the 'Crisis On Infinite Earths' but her woes are from over. In the promo of the next episode of The CW's 'Supergirl' titled 'Back From The Future Part One', we see Kara's best friend Winn Scott back from the future.

This is a return that Arrowverse fans have been eagerly waiting for, ever since his departure from the show in Season 3. However, that is not all, it seems as if Supergirl will be up against a new Toyman, who is Winn's doppelganger.

The team is confused as they know that Winn will never follow in the footsteps of his evil father. The real Winn shows up to set the record straight and stop Evil Winn from taking out his target.

The clip shows Jeremy Jordan playing two distinct versions of Winn. David Harewood, who directed this episode, explained to Entertainment Weekly that he and Jordan worked hard to ensure that the two characters are completely different.

"I've always respected Jeremy and respected his work, I've always respected his talent and his humor and how hard he works, so I knew he was going to really come out the gates," Harewood said.

"And because he was playing two roles, I wanted to make sure there was a distinct difference between the two of them. Speaking to each other a whole month before shooting, we were constantly in contact about it," he added.

He shared that he wanted to keep Toyman "entertaining", rather than angry, which is what Jordan preferred. "The Toyman, Jeremy had the idea that he was quite angry," Harewood said.

"I wanted to keep him entertaining because he wants people to like him and support him. It was important to me that we keep him appealing rather than angry. We played with that together to carve out a slightly different characterization between his returning future Legionnaire Winn, and I think we succeeded in that."

'Supergirl' airs on CW at 9 pm on Sundays.
