‘Stumptown’ finale: ‘Dex Education’ hints at a new love triangle as the PI finally gets Liz out of her hair
Former marine officer and now PI Dex’s (Cobie Smulders) shenanigans have no limit, and that’s one of the reasons we got hooked to ‘Stumptown’ in the first place.
Throughout the series, we’ve seen her mischievous and reckless behavior cause a lot of damage to herself and others.
However, the latest episode presented before us a different side to her persona, which has only made us like her more.
In ‘The Other Woman’, Dex and Liz hit the casino to pull an all-nighter, when Grey (Jake Johnson) requests them to work out their petty differences.
When Dex wakes up next to a naked Liz (Monica Barbaro), she is convinced that the two hooked up, although they are all hazy about the events from the previous night owing to their drunkenness.
While Dex and Liz decided their one-stand-night is best kept away from Grey, the bartender learns the truth through Ansel.
Grey is devastated upon realizing that both his girlfriend and best friend cheated on him with each other. Having had enough of Dex’s negligence, Grey asks her to leave, blaming her for not processing her past the right way, which according to him is destroying her present to a great extent.
Dex in order to win back Grey’s trust in her, asks Sue to show her footages from her night out with Liz. The video reveals that Liz was sober the entire time and she intentionally got Dex drunk to lure her to bed. When Grey learns about Liz’s intentions, he decides to call it quits on their relationship.
Liz’s absence has not only re-kindled Grey and Dex’s friendship but also carved the path for a new romance, which seems quite plausible considering their feelings for each other.
But, Dex’s association with Mills has yet again created a love triangle and we couldn’t wait to see how it’s going to unfold as the series progresses.
