On and off flings and short-lived relationships cannot alone stop Dex Parios (Cobie Smulders) from agreeing to a new and extremely awkward professional association with Grey McConnell (Jake Johnson) and Detective Miles Hoffman (Michael Ealy).

In Episode 13 of 'Stumptown', Dex, Grey and Miles have very little time to acquire drugs from Max and gang, as the people who they ripped it from are coming for them. According to their plan, Grey introduces Dex to Leo as a potential buyer for their illicit goods worth millions.

After sealing a deal with the carjacking ring, Dex goes to a bar to treat herself with a drink where she meets Violet. Chemistry sparks between them in no time as Violet begins to effortlessly peel layers of Dex's emotions, which makes the latter reveal her vulnerable side to a known stranger.

Next thing we know, Dex and Violet are putting their clothes back on after a session of hot sex. Without the slightest hesitation, Dex and Violet exchange numbers and the PI bids her Violent farewell by gently kissing her.

However, little does Dex know about Violet's true identity. She is a hitwoman hired by the drug cartel whose stuff Leo has seized. And, neither does Violet know that Dex is the buyer she's in pursuit of.

Well-prepared but ill-equipped, Dex and Grey set out on their mission to bust the criminals. It is after exchanging the money that Dex and Grey learn about Leo's ulterior motive, which is to escape without handing them over the drugs after getting rid of Grey.

Leo's plan fails miserably when Miles and the team burst into the chop shop. He and the rest of the gang are arrested, while Max manages to escape with Grey's help.

What made for an interesting watch in 'The Dex Factor' was the clash between Dex and Violet, when both cross paths at the chop shop. Despite Violet offering an unarmed Dex a chance to escape, she chooses to fight against the hitwoman to save Grey.

Yet again, Dex puts her life on the line to save someone extremely dear to her. Despite immense awkwardness between one another, Dex, Miles and Grey emerge successful in cracking a case.

And when Dex goes to the bar for a quick refreshment, she receives a drink from a mystery woman, who the bartender saw a few seconds ago, but was missing when Dex looked around.

Could it be Violet? Is she coming back for Dex? 'Stumptown' airs on Wednesdays on ABC.
