‘Stumptown’: With Dex and Grey’s relationship crumbling, here’s what you can expect from the midseason finale episode
ABC’s ‘Stumptown’ will be airing its midseason finale episode on December 11, 2019, before taking off on a winter break. Following all that unfolded in the previous episode, we have been puzzling over what might happen to our beloved characters in ‘Dex Education’, the series' upcoming episode.
Although the majority of ‘The Other Woman’ showcased Dex as a damsel in distress, towards the end of the episode we saw her lying at the other end of the spectrum when she woke up naked next to her best friend’s beau Liz. The previous episode ended on a cliffhanger, which has led to us drawing several conclusions.
Intentionally or unintentionally, Dex thwarted Grey from romancing Liz ever since she met the latter. Despite Grey requesting her to be more accepting of his new relationship, the PI took the liberty to commit the ultimate sin, betraying her only best friend. Now that Grey has had enough of Dex’s mindlessness, he might for good call quits on his relationship with her and quite possibly with Liz, too.
There’s also her smart-mouthed brother Ansel, who is well-aware of his sister’s actions. Liz’s influence on him was also reflecting when he expressed his desire to be a bartender. Dex may not be too convinced with her brother’s leaning towards the new job at the bar owned by her best friend whom she has betrayed.
But Ansel has Liz to back him up and how could Grey ever say no to Ansel? It remains to be seen in the midseason finale episode if Dex and Liz’s latest adventure will put Ansel in a tough position.
The last episode also teased us with another interesting possibility. Liz has now gotten herself involved in both Dex and Grey’s lives. However, with the friendship between the PI and the bar owner turning rocky, Liz has no choice but to choose one of them. For all we know, it might only be Dex who treated her sleepover with Liz as a one-night-stand, while the latter is expecting something more.
The midseason finale episode of 'Stumptown' will air on ABC this Wednesday.
