Spoiler alert for 'Station 19' Season 3 Episode 6 'Ice Ice Baby'

Beware the snow. It looks beautiful but it can make your blood run cold. 'Station 19' faces the terror and trepidation when a blizzard in Seattle puts many lives at stake. Anxious and afraid, people start flooding the firehouse with emergency calls.

With all the chaos, the firefighters agree to leave the doors open for anyone in need. From the homeless to the destitute and the ones who were stranded, many are in need of help. Amid all the mess, Dean Miller (Okieriete Onaodowan) is worried about JJ (Brenda Song), who is ready to give birth to his child. First, she has food cravings and then her waters suddenly break. Dean even cooks for her to help her calm down!

Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz) and Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre) offer to help and put themselves in charge of JJ's care. What's more, Maya gets some video-call assistance from her new 'Grey's Anatomy' crush Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) who happens to be an obstetrician-gynecologist. From a hot shower to masturbation, she gives suggestions to help with contractions.

Happy talking to Carina, Maya tells her in a flirtatious tone, "Can I call you later and not talk about babies?" Carina is quick to make a riposte, "You can call me anytime and talk about anything you want." Seems like the chemistry is getting stronger day by day, isn't it?

For JJ, it is a huge improvement even without the necessary medical support. However, Miller panics a little too much. When JJ yells at him, he hides away and talks to Vic Hughes (Barrett Doss). A great friend that she is, she immediately makes him feel better. "You're the best there is. The kid is gonna be lucky," Vic says.

Jay Hayden as Travis Montgomery and Jonathan Bennett as Michael (ABC)

Meanwhile, Travis Montgomery (Jay Hayden) has a distress call to deal with. A woman named Pilar (Phylicia Rashad) is trapped under a ridge and is unable to make her way out. Her only hope to reach out for help is Travis. He keeps talking to her, even as she tells him about her son, Simon, who is mad with her. "Am I gonna die?" she asks him. He reassures her, "No, we are coming to save you!"

Pilar reminds Travis of his mother. A series of heartwarming flashbacks bring him tons of old memories. Through those flashes from the past, Travis' late husband, Michael (Jonathan Bennett), is introduced for the very first time. Scenes from their wedding ceremony are shown, where Michael helps put Travis at ease when he gets the cold feet.

Ben Warren (Jason George) has his own set of problems. He tries to help Jeff, who sawed off his foot in an accident and taped it back together with help from the Internet. When Ben tries to explain he needs to get to a hospital, Jeff locks him out. Only with Sullivan's help is Ben able to get back inside. At that moment, Ben notices the changes in Sullivan's behavior and is suspicious about the medication Sullivan is taking. Moreover, in a major twist, Rigo (Rigo Sanchez) finds out Jack Gibson (Grey Damon) slept with his wife, Eva (Kelly Thiebaud), and punches him right in the face.

Danielle Savre as Maya Bishop (ABC)

The highlight of the episode, however, is when Maya finally has the "difficult" conversation with Andy to clear everything out. She gives a hint to Andy saying her father Pruitt Herrera (Miguel Sandoval) is "running out of time." That leaves her shocked and Pruitt finally reveals that she only has six months. Andy breaks down and just then, both Pruitt and Sullivan enter the room. Worried about her, Sullivan hugs and comes to support her.

Travis, however, isn't able to save Pilar but only manages to comfort her. The phone rings again. He isn't able to answer. When he is told, "Travis, you're a hero. Heroes answer the phone," he picks it up. "Hi, mom," he says. It is his mother and maybe it is time for him to give her all his time. Directed by Tessa Blake, the episode pieces several emotional junkets together and leaves viewers with one major question: Will Pruitt's cancer shatter Andy to the core? Through these difficult times, she may get back with Sullivan.

The next episode of 'Station 19' airs next Thursday, March 5, at 8 pm ET on ABC.
