'Stargirl' Season 1 Finale: Mike Dugan may be a hero for running over Icicle but fans say he's just a 'child'

Mike Dugan (Trae Romano) hasn't quite been a fan-favourite. However, 'Stargirl' fans might have changed their minds about him after watching the finale of Season 1. It's Mike who saves the day... by running down Icicle (Neil Jackson) with a car. We didn't even know he had a permit to drive a car, but clearly he did so. Mike went where the other JSA members were hesitant to go — killing someone in broad daylight.

This scene was played for laughs obviously, and Mike says with eagerness, "Does this mean I get to be part of the JSA?" Yeah sure, Mike, because that's what being a member of the JSA is about. Fans were quite amused by this scene, however, though some expressed concern at the thought of Mike killing a villain. "Child just killed someone, be a little concerned. Even though it was in protection of others. #Stargirl Maybe keep the frozen pieces in different places," a fan wrote.

Yet others cheered on the twelve-year-old for doing so. "I knew Courtney and co. Would end up saving the day! But gotta give the credit to Mike who ended up saving the day with hit by car! That was such a great season 1! Amazing. I cant wait for season 2! @stargirl_cw #StarGirl," another tweeted.

Some referenced Yolanda's slashing of Brainwave too. "Mike and Yolanda ain’t about that villain got away life, call em them closures! #Stargirl," another wrote.

"#DCStargirl #stargirl First of all why Mike was driving this car and second of all, he find that funny that he killed someone father," a fan tweeted.

Many just hail him as a hero. "the future JSA Member mike dugan! He is the real hero of the finale and yes he made sure to look after the dog while he was at XD #DCStargirl #Stargirl@stargirl_cw," a fan tweeted.

"I watch the last chapter for the second time and I can't stop laughing the way Mike arrives and destroys Jordan @TheNeilJackson @TraeRomano #stargirl #DCStargirl," a fan wrote.

Hero, or a rather worrying potential killer? Well, we'll like to go with the first one. 'Stargirl' is a CW show.
