Double double toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble, something wicked this way comes. Courtney Whitmore aka Stargirl (Brec Bassinger) is in deep trouble as Cindy Burman aka Shiv (Meg DeLacy) might have just found out about her identity, or so the promos suggest. Well, it's not as if Courtney has been particularly subtle about it and seems defiant on listening to her step-father Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson), who obviously has had a few years more than Courtney being a superhero. In the previous episode 'Shiv Part One', Stargirl got thrashed by Shiv, who was just about to destroy her completely, before the mysterious Janitor showed up and saved the day.
In the promos for the latest episode, once again Pat tries to tell Courtney to stop looking for trouble. However, it might be too late. Shiv says that she's found out Stargirl's identity and turns up at her place with balloons and a rather sinister smile. Promos can be misleading, so we are hoping that she hasn't discovered it yet. To be fair, Courtney's Stargirl mask barely conceals anything, and her curly golden hair is a sure hint.
The synopsis for the episode reads: "After Courtney gets herself into trouble following an unexpected confrontation, Pat decides they need to come clean to Barbara; Cindy takes heat from her father after a plan to take matters into her own hands goes awry."
Courtney's mother Barbara is still in the dark about the doings of her daughter, and is still harbouring the belief that she goes to school like any other normal kid. There's a surprise waiting for you Barbara, and you might want to check your basement often.
Courtney has managed to recruit a young JSA by herself, that includes Yolanda Montez aka Wildcat (Yvette Monreal), angsty Rick Tyler aka angsty Hourman (Cameron Gellman) and Beth Chapel, the new Dr Mid-Nite (Anjelika Washington). The team has already been defeated by Sportsmaster and Tigress and it needs several lessons in training and teamwork, provided that they all put their egos aside.
Nevertheless, the next episode of 'Stargirl' promises a lot of action and drama. Tune into The CW on Mondays at 8pm.
