'Stargirl' took off with much fanfare last week as high-school teenager Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) got her hands on the legendary Cosmic Staff, that only belonged to Starman, bequeathed to her by step-dad Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson), who she isn't entirely fond of. Nevertheless, Courtney discovers the joy of the Cosmic Staff and realizes that it is almost like a sentient being. And so, she becomes the titular Stargirl. The kid had literally just moved to Nebraska, and in one day she finds out that she is going to be a superhero and that her biggest problem isn't her step-dad, who she seems to throw a lot of shade at for some reason.

Like Ben Parker would say wisely, with great power, comes great responsibility.... and let's add, a WHOLE lot of villains who are out to get you. 'Stargirl' has a plethora of angsty teenage villains, who are going to make life difficult for Courtney. Apart from that, it seems as if Courtney and Pat will finally work together. Pat was Starman's sidekick and went by the name 'Stripesy'. This is adapted from the original comic book source material.

In this episode, we get to meet Brainwave (Christopher James Baker). In the comics, the name is shared by both father and son and while the father is a villain, the son is a hero. The synopsis reads: "After Courtney has an unexpected run-in with a member of the Injustice Society of America, Pat reveals the truth to her about their history; Barbara is elated when she sees Courtney making an attempt to get along with Pat."

Courtney's hands are going to be full this season, as she will encounter Hourman, Icicle, Dragon King and more.

'Stargirl' is one of the lighter and breezier DC shows as compared to the other Arrowverse shows like 'The Flash' and 'Supergirl'. Hopefully, we will get to see a Stargirl crossover into the Arrowverse and meet the Flash (Barry Allen) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). In an interview with TV Guide, creator Geoff Johns said that they are up for it. "We're thrilled to be a part of the Arrowverse," Johns said. "We're all up for any of (the crossovers) whenever it makes sense. If there's a cool opportunity to do it, that'd be great."

'Stargirl' airs on The CW on Tuesdays at 8pm.
