We are nearing the penultimate episode of 'Stargirl' as Season 1 is going to come to a close soon. In the previous episode 'Shining Knight' Courtney dealt with much family drama as she finally realized that she isn't the daughter of Starman. Her real father turned up, much to her shock, and left because Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson) delivered an expert punch to the face.

She had an empowering moment at the end of the episode when she realized that being a hero is nothing to do with her legacy, and the staff still responds to her. Sweet, but there isn't much time to hold hands and sit around the bonfire because the Injustice Society Of America (ISA) is hot on their trail and is determined to kill the entire family. Jordan Mahkent aka Icicle (Neil Jackson) put aside his initial reservations of killing them due to the soft spot he nurses for Courtney's mother Barbara (Amy Smart). Well, that's changed now and they plan to kill even Mike (Trae Romano), a kid.

The synopsis for the next episode reads: "With the ISA on their trail, Courtney, Pat and the team regroup to figure out their next steps; Rick makes a breakthrough; the team prepares for a showdown with the ISA." In the promos, we can see Pat being punched and thrown around and suffering numerous injuries.

It's time for a grueling battle and it remains to be seen who will survive this. The ISA won't stop at anything to achieve their ends as Brainwave proved by killing his own son Henry King Jr (Jake Austin), just after telling him that he murdered his mother. Icicle has already killed his fair share of people in the season, including an innocent child. The JSA (Justice Society Of America) that includes Rick Tyler aka Hourman (Cameron Gellman), Wildcat (Yvette Monreal) and Dr Mid-Nite (Beth Chapel), needs to train properly before trying to fight the ISA, else it will end rather badly. Courtney's match with Shiv (Meg DeLacy) had landed her in hospital, if we remember correctly. And in the next episode, there is bound to be collateral damage for sure, and most likely Barbara or Mike might have to face the brunt.

'Stargirl' airs on The CW on Tuesdays at 8 pm.
