*Spoiler alert*

There's something about the Star Wars franchise. It can still create a feverish amount of hype and excitement, just as it did 30 years ago. The ninth and final (or so they say) film in the Skywalker saga 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' has arrived, and fans are flooding social media with their reactions. While most rushing to the theaters are putting up tweets in anticipation, some lucky ones have already seen it. Yet the reactions are rather mixed. While some seem tearful about the film, others have trashed it.

One fan wrote, "Thank you @jjabrams that was perfect !! @starwars#TheRiseOfSkywalker #StarWars."

"Loved the movie & found everything to make sense w/ the saga as a whole. Sad for you guys who hated the movie, its story, its characters & their journeys. I don't know, direct your own fan film maybe?" tweeted another one.

#TheRiseOfSkywalker I absolutely loved it," tweeted another one.

Some called it a good end. "For me it's a good end: we had #reylo #Bendemption. End of Skywalker saga = death of all Skywalker. I wish they had both died. A loving end...."

"Ok I cried #TheRiseOfSkywalker," tweeted another.

Another tweeted the good points as well as the bad points of the film, "Just seen #TheRiseOfSkywalker and thought it was pretty good. Some notes: - casting @HamillHimselfas young Rey was jarring - did NOT expect the Kylo-Finn romance scene but ship it - Hux's solo musical number was refreshing - Chewie being the real emperor was unexpected."

"The force is strong with this one @starwars #TheRiseOfSkywalker," tweeted a fan.

However, critics have been bashing the film and calling it the worst film ever made. In defense of the film, one fan wrote, "Perhaps I'm not as picky as some about this stuff but how any reviewer can call that the worst Star Wars movie ever made is beyond me #StarWars #TheRiseOfSkywalker."

Another thrashed the film and wrote, "#TheRiseOfSkywalker was absolutely horrific and all over the place. Was a bit better then last Jedi but that’s not hard."

Directed by JJ Abrams, 'The Rise Of Skywalker' hit the screens on December 20. The films that preceded 'The Rise Of Skywalker' were 'The Last Jedi' and 'The Force Awakens'. Actors Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver reprise their roles as Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, and Kylo Ren. Mark Hamill and late Carrie Fisher also make an appearance in the film.
