While 'Star Trek: Picard' met with mixed reviews throughout its first season, the critics agreed that some of the show's strongest moments were not in the new worlds or characters introduced, but in the old characters that the show brought back. The producers have apparently taken note of this and will be bringing back familiar faces to the Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) show's second season.

The show's first season saw Picard united with several of his old crew, including Data (Brent Spiner), William Ryker (Jonathan Frakes) and Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis). It also reunited him with other familiar faces such as the ex-Borg Hugh (Jonathan Del Arco) and introducing him to a character from another 'Star Trek' series — Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan). Though the show explored new territory, it kept a firm grasp on its past.

According to an interview with ET Online, Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton) will be making an appearance on Season 2 of 'Star Trek: Picard' and he won't be the only character from 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' to appear. "How do I answer this without getting myself in trouble? I think it is reasonable to think that those people are still a part of Picard’s life. Sure, what the hell, absolutely," Burton said, in response to a question about him making a cameo. "You will see us all, probably not all at the same time but... You know, never say never."

There are no set plans for what Geordi's role on the show will be yet, but Burton has ideas. "I have suggested to the producers that perhaps we find Geordi in a position where he is teaching, passing that knowledge on to another generation of people. We'll see," Burton said. "Alex (Kurtzman) and the folks in charge (are) doing an amazing job. When they call, and whatever it is they want me to do, I'm pretty sure it's going to be spectacular."

Geordi appeared on all seven seasons of 'Star Trek: The Next Generation,' as well as the various spinoff movies and specials. He was a highly valued member of the crew, an engineer who used a specialized visor to compensate for his blindness. As of yet, nothing has been filmed for the next season of 'Star Trek: Picard.'

'Star Trek: Picard' Season 2 is currently under production, with no release date set yet.
