The first season of Netflix's 'Spirit Riding Free: Riding Academy' is back, with the students of the Palamino Bluffs Riding Academy are all set for new adventures, meeting new friends and making the most of their time as FOALs - that it, first-year students at the Academy. "Lucky" Prescott (Amber Frank) and her friends Abigail Stone (Bailey Gambertoglio) and Pru Granger (Sydney Park) are prepared for new challenges and forming closer bonds with their favorite horses.

Fitting into the prestigious Palamino Bluffs Riding Academy has not been easy, but the PALs are forming fast friendships with their fellow FOALs and competition from the Academy's BUDs. The girls are finding life to be very different from the ones they led back at Miradero, but one thing remains: a love for horses, and for riding. Lucky's relationship with Spirit, her horse, and her best friends continues to be her strongest asset in her time at the Academy.

Netflix has released a trailer for the upcoming series, which features several new characters. We see Lucky's reputation as "the girl with the wild horse" fails to impress Coach Bradley, who would prefer her students to be punctual, instead. Pru, in the meantime, is developing a crush on fellow student Zaheer, much to Abigail's delight. One of the newer students subverts expectations entirely, proving herself to be the fastest jockey on campus despite being confined to a wheelchair - she quickly earns Lucky's admiration and respect for how she's able to handle her horse.

The trailer also reveals trouble in lower caves at high tide, a new young foal at the Academy who Abigail takes to, and the students taking the time to cherish their days as FOALs. You can watch the trailer below:

The official synopsis for Part 2 of the series reads, "A new chapter begins for Lucky and her friends as they leave Miradero behind to live and learn at the prestigious Palomino Bluffs Riding Academy" - though this is, of course, the premise that was introduced for Part 1 of the series. Beyond the trailer, no additional information about Part 2 of Season 1 has yet been released.

'Spirit Riding Free: Riding Academy' Season 1, Part 2, releases on Netflix on Friday, September 4, 2020.
