'Narcissistic behavior': Internet slams Tory Lanez's dad for 'forgiving' Megan Thee Stallion

Netizens fumed when in an Instagram video, Sonstar Peterson said, 'We forgave that girl a long time ago. A long time ago'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tory Lanez's father Sonstar Peterson reportedly said on social media that he had forgiven Megan Thee Stallion after the shooting scandal that led to his son being convicted. Lanez was found guilty on all three counts related to the 2020 shooting case.

In an Instagram Live on Thursday, January 12, Peterson said, “This might come as a shock to many of you, but guess what? Both my son, myself, and others of our family have long decided that we are not going to hold any animosity against Megan Pete a.k.a. Megan Thee Stallion. We forgave that girl a long time ago. A long time ago."

Sonstar continued, “We know that the principle of forgiveness is important in order to cleanse one’s heart, to cleanse one’s soul, and to not be bound up with hatred. Hatred, resentment, bitterness, those things can actually diseases of the bones," according to Yahoo, adding, "It has been proven, and it can cause sickness in your body because you’re holding onto something that is negative against the real-life force in your life." 

Who is Sonstar Peterson?

Peterson was a former pastor. After the death of his wife, Luella, due to a rare disease, he became a missionary. Due to this, he and Lanez gained opportunities to travel across the US. However, in 2011, Peterson met a Kenya-based woman and decided to permanently move to Kenya, according to SK Pop. The two got married soon after. 

'Next level narcissistic behavior'

Netizens were left fuming after Peterson said he had "forgiven" Megan. A user wrote on Twitter, "Why would they forgive her? she did nothing wrong." Another added, "Forgiving someone for shooting them is next level narcissistic behavior." A third claimed, "This is the face of a innocent man." A fourth questioned, "Forgive her for what? she didn’t do anything." "This guy is trying his best to be on the spotlight," read a tweet. "How do you forgive a victim? That’s like Jeffrey Dahmer saying he forgives the people he cut up and ate," commented another user.
