‘I’m so grateful’: Cher’s son Chaz Bono celebrates 6th wedding anniversary with wife Shara Blue Mathes
EL CENTRO, CALIFORNIA: Chaz Bono, Cher's oldest son, celebrated his 6th wedding anniversary with his wife, Shara Blue Mathes, on January 20. The couple first met in 2017, and they quickly began dating. However, it didn't appear like they would be dating soon when they first met as Shara had no plans to start a relationship at the time.
Fortunately, a short time after he met Shara, the two became close because of their common experiences and history as drug addicts. Cher is said to admire Shara. "When they are in the US they make a point to see one another's families. That is so important to them. Cher and her mom Georgia are treating Shara like family. They are delighted Chaz has found someone who makes him happy," a source stated, according to Daily Mail.

Cher's 'loving but complicated relationship' with Chaz
With her eldest son, Chaz, Cher has had a loving but complicated relationship. The pop singer has occasionally disagreed with her children, but overall, she has been a very caring and supportive mother. Cher had considerable trouble adjusting to the transition when Chaz came out as transgender. "It wasn't easy. Like I remember calling, and the old message — the old Chaz message was on the phone — and that was very difficult. But then you have one child, but you don't really lose them — they just are in a different shape," Cher recalled, in an interview with CNN.
The well-known singer had to develop patience with her son's decisions over time. She courageously accepted the fact that she hadn't lost a child and made up her mind to try to thaw their icy connection. Chaz's relationship with his mother improved with time, and he forgave her for not supporting him when he most needed it. "It has been difficult for my mother, but I respect that. It's a process of grieving for a child you've lost and adjusting to the new one taking their place. We are developing a new relationship," he stated.
Cher also mended her relationship with her youngest son, Elijah. Her children were frequently left to their own devices as they grew up with their mother on tour. Naturally, Cher had work to accomplish while she was traveling, and the children frequently thought she wasn't there.
