Dionne Warwick once decided to call Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur over to her house and teach them a lesson after becoming upset that they were using misogynistic language in their songs. Dionne organized a meeting with the aggressive rap stars, where she forced them to call her a "b***h" in front of her in order to demonstrate the power of their words.

In the recently released CNN documentary 'Dionne Warwick: Don't Make Me Over', Snoop Dogg, 51, discussed the "scary" intervention. He revealed that he felt like Dionne had "out-gangstered" him that day. He also details how the famous hitmaker, who recently revealed she will be teaming with Dolly Parton on a new gospel duet tune, gave a speech that had a profound impact on both his life and his music.

Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., admitted in the document that he felt a bit anxious when Dionne, who is now 82, contacted him and asked for a meeting at her home. He noted at the time that he was just beginning his career while Dionne had been in the industry for more than 30 years with great success. Snoop recalls being there eight minutes early because he was so afraid of upsetting Dionne when she specifically requested that they appear at exactly 7 am. "We were kind of like scared and shook up," he recalled. "We’re powerful right now, but she’s been powerful forever. 30-some years in the game, in the big home with a lot of money and success."

Suge Knight, a co-founder of Death Row Records, Tupak, and a number of other rappers were there at the gathering as well. Snoop revealed that Dionne chastised them for using misogynistic lyrics and asked that they refer to her as a "b***h." She told them that someday, their daughters would hear the lyrics of their songs and ask, "Daddy, did you really say that? Is that really you?" "What are you going to say [to that]?" he stated as she questioned them. "You guys are all going to grow up. You’re going to have families. You’re going to have children. You’re going to have little girls."

"These kids are expressing themselves, which they’re entitled to do."

However, there’s a way to do it," Dionne said in the documentary when asked why she chose to talk to the men. Despite being "as gansta as you could be" at the time, Dionne, according to Snoop, "out-gangstered them that day." "She was checking me at a time when I thought I couldn’t be checked," he further said. "We were the most gangsta as you could be, but that day at Dionne Warwick’s house, I believe we got out-gangstered that day."

No doubt, the rappers were forever changed by Dionne's lesson.

After that, he said, "I made it a point to put records of joy out," and chose to concentrate on "uplifting" people with his music rather than being negative. "Dionne, I hope I became the jewel that you saw when I was the little, dirty rock that was in your house. I hope I’m making you proud," he said in the end.
