'Slow Burn': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and everything you need to know about Epix's docuseries on Slate's hit podcast

Slate's hot podcast 'Slow Burn' has been adapted into a six-episode docuseries by MGM's EPIX. Here is all you need to know about the upcoming docuseries

If you love watching or hearing about scandals involving previous presidents like Nixon's Watergate scandal or Clinton's impeachment, then you will love this. Slate's popular podcast 'Slow Burn' has been picked up by MGM's premium cable channel EPIX to be adapted into a six-episode docuseries.

Release date

The six-episode docuseries was set to premiere on November 24, 2019, but has been postponed to mid of February 2020. The show is set to premiere on February 16, at 10 pm ET only on EPIX.

Plot

The docuseries will be following Slate's path where the first season of 'Slow Burn' focussed on the infamous Watergate scandal and the events that led to President Nixon resigning from his post, as aired on the podcast. The second season of the podcast dealt with Clinton's impeachment. What grabbed the audience's attention to the podcast was the parallels it drew between the Watergate scandal and Nixon's presidency to the present day scenario.

EPIX briefed the show as, "From Nixon and Watergate to Clinton’s impeachment, host Leon Neyfakh excavates the strange subplots and forgotten characters involved in the downfall of a president — flashing back to politically tumultuous times not so far removed from today. 'Slow Burn', winner of Best Podcast at the first iHeartRadio Podcast Awards, is produced by Slate. The docuseries will be produced in partnership between Left/Right, a Red Arrow Studios company, and Slate."
