Why was Slim Jxxmi arrested? Rapper’s girlfriend denies domestic violence accusations
Slim Jxmmi, who is better known as one-half of the hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd, was arrested after he reportedly attacked his girlfriend. Slim, whose real name is Aaquil Brown, got behind the bars on Tuesday, January 25, in Miami. The 30-year-old rapper was arrested on battery charges after he reportedly got into a heated argument with his lover with whom he also shares a son.
According to TMZ, Slim confessed to the cops that he got pissed after she questioned him about a woman he was following on Twitter. Speaking of rappers getting arrested, hip-hop artist Paper Lovee was arrested last year by Atlanta Police for his alleged involvement in a shooting at a convenience store. Another rapper, SpotemGottem, also came under the radar of the Dallas Police Department in August 2021 for his suspected relation to a murder. Other hip-hop artists such as Polo G, Bandman Kevo, and 9lokkNine too made it to the news for going behind the bars.

According to TMZ, Slim Jxmmi allegedly pulled his girlfriend’s hair extensions from her scalp to stop her from grabbing their sleeping baby from a playpen. The duo had been arguing over the woman on Twitter and apparently, the rapper lied that he was going to the gym when he might have gone to the bar instead. The publication reported that the rapper's girlfriend told the cops that when he returned home after the argument he smelled like alcohol. He apparently also threw her phone off the balcony during the argument. The device was later recovered from a nearby street. Pitchfork reported that Slim Jxmmi was booked into Miami’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at 11.27 am at a bond of $1,500.
‘Dade County y'all are wrong for this’
A few hours after Slim Jxmmi got arrested, his girlfriend claimed that the entire thing was bulls**t. She claimed that the hip-hop artist did not lay a finger on her. According to TMZ, she stated, “Oh wow. This is cap. Dade County y'all are wrong for this. I told you guys he did not hit me” adding, “Every officer you guys had in my face are wrong for this. No hands were put on anybody, I stated it more than once.” She further claimed, “It was a loud argument and the police were called. You guys turn nothing into something. It's our sons first birthday tomorrow, what's wrong with y'all?" Slim’s rep is yet to comment on the entire situation. MEAWW will keep you posted.
