Kesha announces North American 2020 tour in support of new album with bounce star Big Freedia
The pop star Kesha recently announced an extensive 26-date North American tour in support of her highly anticipated fourth album, 'High Road', which will be released on January 31st. The popular New Orleans bounce artiste, Big Freedia, will also be joining her at select dates and venues throughout the tour, the singer announced on Tuesday, January 7.
Big Freedia and Kesha had previously collaborated on the lead single 'Raising Hell', which was released earlier in October 2019, and will also be included in the singer's latest record. The forthcoming 'High Road' is Kesha's successor to her 2017 album 'Rainbow', which had previously earned her two Grammy nominations. Although the new album was originally supposed to be released on January 10, the release date has now been pushed to January 31. Kesha had also teased the project in December with the single 'Resentment', that featured the talents of Brian Wilson, Sturgill Simpson and Wrabel.
Kesha spoke about the upcoming High Road Tour in a conversation with Rolling Stone: “While shaking my ass at the stroke of midnight, ringing in the new year, new decade, with my new album coming this month, I thought to myself, ‘Damn. I think the best medicine for happiness and having a beautiful life is to celebrate it while I have it, with the people I love most. And ummm…shake my ass. As often as possible.’"
The pop star decided that she wanted to share those good vibes with her fans as well - "So…this is my HIGH ROAD TOUR announce!!! If you wanna come shake ur body and hear the new jams LIVE, this is the place to do it! And, on the HIGH ROAD TOUR, you will have not one, but two grand supreme expert body movers — BIG FREEDIA and YOURS TRULY — ME!!!!! Come see us on tour this Spring!!!!!!”
The 'Tik Tok' singer's High Road Tour will commence in the spring, on April 23, 2020, at the Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land, Texas. The 26-date tour will travel through major cities like Atlanta, Denver, Phoenix, Los Angeles, New York and more, before wrapping up with a final concert at Windsor, Ontario, on June 5, 2020.
Presale tickets for Kesha's tour can be bought on Wednesday, January 8th itself. Tickets are set to go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 10th.
