New York City, New York (Release): City Winery has unveiled an expanded lineup of performers for the much-anticipated evening celebrating the life and work of two monumental figures in music: Sinéad O’Connor and Shane MacGowan.

Set for March 20, 2024 at Carnegie Hall, this event now boasts additional artists coming together for a night dedicated to honoring the legacy of these iconic musicians. This year’s benefit concert will support the work of PEN America, a leading advocate for open expression in the United States and across the globe.

'Sinéad & Shane at Carnegie Hall' is a celebration of the lives and artistry of O’Connor and MacGowan, now further enriched by the addition of Roisin Waters (O’Connor's daughter), Imelda May, Lisa Hannigan, Steve Earle, Josh Ritter, and Flogging Molly to the lineup.

These artists join the previously announced David Gray, Glen Hansard, Cat Power, Dropkick Murphys, Lisa Hannigan, Billy Bragg, Amanda Palmer, Gordon Gano, The Mountain Goats, Bettye Lavette, Eugene Hütz, Julia Cumming, Kat Edmonson, and the Resistance Revival Chorus in a heartfelt celebration of O’Connor and MacGowan’s profound influence on music and cultural expression. The house band will be led by Tony Shanahan, setting the stage for a night of memorable performances.

On March 19, 2024, fans are invited to enjoy an intimate 'Live Rehearsal Show with Special Guests'. A long tradition for City Winery’s shows at Carnegie Hall, the rehearsal will feature the house band in a run-through of the entire show, with many guests taking the stage to practice their song one final time before the following night’s performance.

This tribute arises against a deeply emotional backdrop, marked by the profound loss of two cherished Irish songwriters over the last year. City Winery shares a distinct bond with O'Connor, having been a chosen venue for her final two tours. Inspired by Amanda Palmer's vision, City Winery hosted the 'Remembering Sinéad O’Connor' tribute in October 2023.

The subsequent loss of MacGowan just two months later ignited a passionate initiative: a combined tribute to honor the lasting legacy and friendship of these two artists, celebrating their significant contributions to music and cultural dialogue.
